Friction and Wear Study on Friction Pairs with a Biomimetic Non-smooth Surface of 316L Relative to CF/PEEK under a Seawater Lubricated Condition

open access: yesChinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering, 2019
Current studies of a seawater axial piston pump mainly solve the problems of corrosion and wear in a slipper pair by selecting materials with corrosion resistance, self-lubrication, and wear resistance.

Research Progress on Surface Design and Solid-Liquid Composite Lubrication Technology of Friction Pairs in High-Pressure Plunger Pumps [PDF]

open access: yesCailiao Baohu
Plunger pumps, as one of the most critical power components in mechanical hydraulic systems, are widely used in aerospace, construction machinery and other fields due to their advantages of high rotational speed, high pressure, high transmission ...

Peripheral lysosomes recruit PLEKHG3 to focal adhesions and restrain protrusion dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proximity‐dependent labeling at the LAMTOR complex revealed the Rho GEF PLEKHG3 as a lysosome‐proximal protein directing the study toward the influence of lysosome positioning on actin dynamics and cell motility. We show that PLEKHG3 colocalizes with lysosomes at focal adhesion sites and observe that forced peripheral dispersion of lysosomes hinders ...

Translophagy—A potential link between autophagy impairment and translational errors

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neurodegenerative diseases are characterised by the accumulation of abnormal proteins and protein aggregates, but their origin often remains unknown. We propose that selective autophagy removes damaged protein‐making machinery, preventing errors during protein synthesis.

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Numerical Simulation Study on the Volumetric Efficiency Loss of CO2 Swash Plate Axial Piston Pumps

open access: yesApplied Sciences
With the aim of addressing the low volumetric efficiency of CO2 swashplate axial piston pumps, the influence of four volumetric losses—loss of the CO2 compression retention volume, leakage volume loss of the port pair, leakage volume loss of the plunger ...

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Effect of case drain pressure on slipper/swashplate pair within axial piston pump [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Zhejiang University Science A, 2015
This paper pertains to case drain pressure limitation for axial piston swashplate pumps used in open-loop circuits. The critical case drain pressure for pumps of this type is considered from the oil film perspective of the slipper/swashplate pair: (1) height of the lubricating oil film, (2) supporting stiffness, and (3) location of the centroid of the ...

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created
