Effect of Slope Aspect and Land Use Types on Selected Soil Physicochemical Properties in North Western Ethiopian Highlands

open access: yesApplied and Environmental Soil Science, 2020
Recent research findings imply that the slope aspect has a great impact on soil genesis and soil microclimate. The microclimate has a significant effect on the soil geobiochemical processes taking place in the soil.

Divergent responses of plant functional traits and biomass allocation to slope aspects in four perennial herbs of the alpine meadow ecosystem

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2023
Slope aspect can cause environmental heterogeneity over relatively short distances, which in turn affects plant distribution, community structure, and ecosystem function.

Effects of Topographic Factors on Cultivated-Land Ridge Orientation in the Black Soil Region of Songnen Plain

open access: yesLand, 2022
Topographic factors are essential to the spatial distribution of ridge orientation, yet the literature shows limited exploration of the mechanisms underlying the effects of terrain on cultivated-land ridge orientation in a black soil region.

Abundance, Distribution and Association of Paphiopedilum fairrieanum (Lindl.) Stein with Site Factors in Brongshing, Samdrup Jongkhar District

open access: yesConservation, 2022
The long-lived and attractive flower of Paphiopedilum fairrieanum (Lindl.) Stein has made it one of the most commercialized flowers in the world, and its distribution is restricted to small areas.

Maximum Implied Variance Slope - Practical Aspects

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2023
In the Black-Scholes model, the absence of arbitrages imposes necessary constraints on the slope of the implied variance in terms of log-moneyness, asymptotically for large log-moneyness. The constraints are used for example in the SVI implied volatility parameterization to ensure the resulting smile has no arbitrages.

Near-surface heat transfer at two gentle slope sites with differing aspects, Qinghai-Tibet Plateau

open access: yesFrontiers in Environmental Science, 2022
The slope aspect effect is widely distributed on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and has an important impact on the permafrost environment. The differences in surface heat exchange characteristics of different slope aspects in the permafrost region of Gu ...

Effect of acid rain on soil infiltration in various land aspects using rain simulation [PDF]

open access: yesEnvironmental Resources Research, 2023
Infiltration is defined as the flow of water from above ground into the subsurface. It is not equal between soils, so the infiltration of diverse soils is distinct.

Grazing management, slope aspect and canopy effects on the compression characteristic of soils of the Gonbad experimental watershed in Hamedan, Iran

open access: yes, 2022
Arid and semiarid environments are very sensitive to unsuitable land management practices like livestock overgrazing. Animal trampling and overgrazing can cause land degradation through soil compaction, and this can be controlled by slope aspect.
