Polarimetric SAR data compensation for terrain azimuth slope variation

IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2000
This paper addresses the problem of polarimetric SAR (POLSAR) data correction for changes in radar cross sections, which are caused by azimuth slopes. Most radiometric slope corrections remove slope effects to account for the effective scattering pixel area.

Current controller with slope compensation for a switched reluctance motor

2018 ELEKTRO, 2018
This paper describes development of a current controller for a Switched Reluctance Drive used in a traction application. Motor parameters are measured and evaluated. A suitable simple and high dynamic controller is proposed, with current slope compensation to mitigate over regulation. Finally the proposed regulator is compared with other alternatives.

Design of a microstructure fibre for slope-matched dispersion compensation

Journal of Optics A: Pure and Applied Optics, 2007
A microstructure fibre structure based on pure silica is proposed for broadband dispersion compensation. The influence of the three air-hole parameters and the lattice period of triangular cladding upon the dispersion curve is investigated. The dispersion of the standard single-mode fibre, which is 98 times the length of the microstructure fibre, can ...

POLSAR data compensation for terrain azimuth slope variation

IEEE 1999 International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium. IGARSS'99 (Cat. No.99CH36293), 2003
This paper addresses the problem of polarimetric SAR data correction for slope induced radar cross section variations in the azimuth direction. Most radiometric slope corrections remove slope effects in the range direction to account for local incidence angle variation. Two approaches to compensate azimuth slope effects are proposed.

An Adaptive Slope Compensation Circuit and Its Application

2012
To solve the over-compensation problem in the current mode PWM switch power, a new adaptive slope compensation circuit is proposed in this paper. In the circuit, the difference between the output and input voltage is positively correlated with the duty cycle of switch signal, which is used to generate the control signal varying with the duty ratio. The

Fiber Bragg grating fabrication for dispersion slope compensation

IEEE Photonics Technology Letters, 1996
Group-delay dispersion slope causes signal deterioration in long-distance high-data-rate communication systems. We report the fabrication of high-quality apodized and chirped fiber gratings with dispersion slopes as high as -1800 ps/nm/sup -2/ over a 0.7-mn bandwidth-sufficient to compensate for the dispersion slope of >25000-km length of standard ...

PVT Compensation for Wilkinson Single-Slope Measurement Systems

IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 2012
A pulse-width locked loop (PWLL) circuit is reported that compensates for process, voltage, and temperature (PVT) variations of a linear ramp generator within a 12-bit multi-channel Wilkinson (single-slope integrating) Analog-to-Digital converter (ADC).

All-fiber dynamic gain slope compensator

Optics Communications, 2004
Abstract An all-fiber dynamic gain slope compensator is demonstrated, based on Mach–Zehnder interferometer design. Low voltage and electrical power are used to tune the attenuation slope via thermo-optic effect. A constant average insertion loss mode is demonstrated.

A design of a novel tunable interchannel dispersion-slope compensator

SPIE Proceedings, 2005
We design a novel tunable interchannel dispersion-slope compensator using a single broad-band nonchannelized sampled fiber Bragg grating (FBG) with chirp in the sampling period. Tunability of the dispersion-slope can be achieved by stressing or heating the grating uniformly, which has a third-order time-delay variation with wavelength, thereby causing ...

Dispersion Slope Compensation with Co-directional Optical Couplers

Integrated Photonics Research, 2002
Dispersion slope compensation with co-directional coupler is numerically demonstrated. The profile of the coupling coefficient is obtained by an inverse scattering technique for the coupled mode equations. A third order dispersion in the phase response of the coupler for dispersion slope compensation is obtained.
