Redox environment modulates aggregation of ataxin‐3 in vitro — Implications for drug screening of cysteine‐rich proteins

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Redox environment modulates in vitro aggregation of Ataxin‐3, the protein implicated in spinocerebellar ataxia type 3. Reducing conditions stabilize native monomers and prevent aggregation, whereas oxidative conditions promote the formation of non‐native conformers and disulfide‐linked oligomers within the Josephin domain (JD).

Aerobic scope is sustained through a heatwave in juvenile Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar)

open access: yesJournal of Fish Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract Aquatic ectotherms are vulnerable to heatwave‐induced physiological stress, which arises from increased energy demands and reduced dissolved oxygen content in warmer waters. Understanding thermal physiology is critical for predicting how commercially and ecologically important populations could be affected by the increasing risk of rising ...

Pitwall Stability Analysis-Case Studies* [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The importance of pitwall stability in design and economy of open pits has been a subject of considerable research in rock mechanics for some time now. Imperceptible slow mass movement has been a secret agent in inducing major pitwall failure.

The impact of isosmotic conditions on the metabolism and hypoxia tolerance of a reportedly oxyconforming teleost

open access: yesJournal of Fish Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract Fish must manage the competing demands of ion balance and gas exchange across the gills – a physiological tension known as the osmorespiratory compromise. In dynamic estuarine environments, the osmorespiratory compromise may be exacerbated by variable salinity and periods of hypoxia that demand high respiratory work.

Slope stability assessment of road cut slopes along NH 107 (Kund-Sonprayag), Gharwal Himalaya, India

open access: yesResults in Earth Sciences
Slope instability is one of the major problems for the road cut slopes in the hilly areas. Detailed geological mapping with emphasis on the structural data can be a best approach to study these road cut slopes and helps to delineate the active failure ...

Permanent Revenue in an Energy‐Exporting Economy: A New Test for Fiscal Equilibrium

open access: yesReview of Development Economics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Fiscal disequilibrium arises when permanent expenditures (PEXP) exceed permanent revenue (PREV), a frequent risk in energy‐exporting economies reliant on volatile windfall revenues. However, existing research lacks a clear measure of these concepts and an empirical test for fiscal equilibrium.

ANALISIS TINGKAT KELONGSORAN MENGGUNAKAN METODE ROCK MASS RATING (RMR) , SLOPE MASS RATING (SMR) SERTA METODE BISHOP PADA LERENG BATUAN X, KELURAHAN JANGLI, KECAMATAN TEMBALANG, KOTA SEMARANG

open access: yesJURNAL GEOMINERBA (JURNAL GEOLOGI, MINERAL DAN BATUBARA)
