Stability analysis of embankments and slopes
Géotechnique, 1973A simple but accurate method of stability analysis of embankments and slopes is developed to determine the critical earthquake acceleration that is required to bring a mass of soil, bounded by a slip line of any shape and the free surface, to a state of limiting equilibrium. At the same time, the usual factor of safety can be determined.

Numerical methods in the stability analysis of slopes
Computers & Structures, 1988Abstract Traditionally, the safety of embankment slopes has been determined using limit equilibrium methods. This analysis provides the engineer with a factor of safety against failure but does nothing in terms of determining what displacements may occur or what state of stress exists.

Stability analysis of slopes reinforced with piles
Computers and Geotechnics, 2001Abstract In this paper, the kinematic approach of limit analysis is used to analyse the stability of earth slopes reinforced with piles. First, the case of slope without piles is considered and a procedure is developed to calculate the safety factor for the slope.
