STUDIES ON SLOW RELEASE FERTILIZERS
Soil Science, 1990Using first-order kinetics we describe the release of nutrients by coated slow-release fertilizer (SRF). Plotting the logarithm of the concentration of intact fertilizer in the soil [log(Q0 - Qt), where Qt, is the amount applied and Qt, is the amount released at time t] versus the time yielded a ...

New Slow-Releasing Molybdenum Fertilizer
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2008This paper describes a new water-insoluble molybdenum compound that has been developed as a slow-release fertilizer. The compound is an inorganic polymer formed by inclusion of molybdenum within a long-chain polyphosphate structure. It was designed by a process of "reverse engineering" of the molecule.

Environmentally Friendly Slow-Release Nitrogen Fertilizer
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2011To sustain the further world population, more fertilizers are required, which may become an environmental hazard, unless adequate technical and socioeconomic impacts are addressed. In the current study, slow-release formulations of nitrogen fertilizer were developed on the basis of natural attapulgite (APT) clay, ethylcellulose (EC) film, and sodium ...

A new slow-releasing iron fertilizer
Chemical Engineering Journal, 2009Abstract This paper describes the development of an environment-friendly, slow-release fertilizer of the micronutrient iron. The compound is water insoluble, and is based on a polymeric phosphate structure. Kinetics and solubility of products in the goethite [FeO(OH)]–H 3 PO 4 and [FeO(OH)]–MgO–H 3 PO 4 systems were studied at 170–300 °C ...

Ureaform as a Slow Release Fertilizer: A Review
Zeitschrift für Pflanzenernährung und Bodenkunde, 1990AbstractUreaform (UF) is a condensation product between urea and formaldehyde consisting of short chains from methylene‐diurea to tetramethylenepentaurea. The rate of nitrogen release is mainly related to chain solubility. The mineralization of UF is governed by microbial activity. A wide spectrum of organisms is known to be involved.

The use of slow-release fertilizers in citrus
Journal of Horticultural Science, 1996SummaryIn the last decades, an important change has taken place in agricultural practices to increase production and thus the economic yield of citrus. This increase has been supported mainly by new irrigable areas and the wider use of fertilizers, especially nitrogenous ones. The efficiency of nitrogenous fertilization is highly variable. A great part

The Effect of CTAB on Bentonite for Slow Release Fertilizer
Key Engineering Materials, 2021Effect of CTAB (Cetyltrimethylammonium Bromide) surfactant concentration on synthesized CTAB modified bentonite and release of NPK has been studied. Besides, the release kinetic model was also determined. Characterizations of the modified bentonite were done using FTIR (Fourier Transform Infra-Red), XRD (X-Ray Diffraction), and SEM (Scanning Electron ...

Surfactant-Modified Zeolite as a Slow Release Fertilizer for Phosphorus
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2006The feasibility of using surfactant-modified zeolite (SMZ) as a carrier for fertilizer and for slow release of phosphorus (P) was investigated. Zeolite-A was modified by using hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide, a cationic surfactant, to modify its surface to increase its capacity to retain anion, namely, phosphate (PO4(3-)).
