Cholinergic brainstem neurons modulate cortical gamma activity during slow oscillations
Cholinergic neurons in the rostral brainstem, including the pedunculopontine nucleus (PPN), are critical for switching behavioural state from sleep to wakefulness, and their presumed inactivity during sleep is thought to promote slow cortical rhythms ...

Using PVA–borax hydrogels as carriers for off‐the‐shelf artificial sweeteners to fight multidrug‐resistant A. baumannii. These soft, biocompatible hydrogels rapidly reduce bacterial viability within multidrug‐resistant A. baumannii biofilms by more than 99% within one hour and sustain antimicrobial activity over time, while demonstrating safety in both

Self‐healing assembly of two cell‐laden hydrogel layers creates a biomimetic skin construct that restores both dermal and epidermal functions, resulting in accelerated wound healing and enhanced hair follicle regeneration in a full‐thickness skin wound model. ABSTRACT Alopecia remains a pervasive clinical challenge, largely owing to the limited ability

Slow brain oscillations of sleep, resting state, and vigilance.
The most important quest of cognitive neuroscience may be to unravel the mechanisms by which the brain selects, links, consolidates, and integrates new information into its neuronal network, while preventing saturation to occur.

This study demonstrates that Tf‐PDA NPs combine a receptor‐mediated targeting with mild photothermal activation to enhance nanoparticle accumulation in the brain. NIR‐activated Tf‐PDA NPs increase BBB permeability to NPs in vitro and in vivo without inducing cytotoxicity or adverse immune responses.

Universal Conductance Fluctuations in Quantum Anomalous Hall Insulators
Universal conductance fluctuations are observed in mesoscopic quantum anomalous Hall insulators. Two distinct fluctuation patterns are identified, arising from different interference processes of bulk and chiral edge states, respectively. These findings unveil rich quantum interference phenomena in quantum anomalous Hall insulators and provide insights
