Convolutions with slowly varying functions in the complex domain
Integral Transforms and Special Functions, 2005We prove a theorem concerning asymptotic behavior of general complex-valued kernel convolutions with slowly varying functions in the sense of Karamata. In applications, we show that the content of some classical theorems can be naturally extended on some parts of complex z-plane.

Analysis of noise in quartz crystal oscillators by using slowly varying functions method
IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics and Frequency Control, 1999By using formal manipulation capability of commercially available symbolic calculation code, it is possible to automatically derive the characteristic polynomial describing the conditions for oscillation of a circuit. The analytical expression of the characteristic polynomial is obtained through an encapsulation process starting from the SPICE netlist ...

Estimation of slowly time-varying trend function in long memory regression models
Journal of Statistical Computation and Simulation, 2018ABSTRACTWe study the asymptotic properties of the least-squares estimator for the trend function of a particular class of locally stationary models, which are defined by considering a smooth variation of the trend function. Additionally, errors are assumed to be realizations from a long-range dependent stationary Gaussian process. Our findings are then

Stabilization of nonlinear systems with a slowly varying parameter by a control Lyapunov function
ISA Transactions, 2010Based on a control Lyapunov function (CLF) strategy, a novel approach for designing a controller for a slowly varying nonlinear system is proposed. The approach may be thought of as being in between the time-invariant and time-varying CLF techniques.

Asymptotic expansion of a Fourier integral containing a slowly varying function
USSR Computational Mathematics and Mathematical Physics, 1973Abstract AN asymptotic expansion is obtained for the integral (2.1) as x → + ∞; certain generalizations of the result are outlined and a concrete example is given. Theorems are incidentally obtained on the asymptotic forms of the integrals (1.5) and (3.2).

Slowly varying functions in the Zygmund sense and generalized regular variation
Journal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 2019The author analyzes the fundamental role of slowly varying functions (SVF) in the Zygmund sense. Specifically: (1) He derives a necessary and sufficient condition for a positive measurable function to be slowly varying in the Zygmund sense; (2) analytical equivalences involving Zygmund SVF's in probabilistic setting are related to necessary and ...
