A New Hydroclimatic Signature: Negative NAO Dominance Under Weak La Niña Conditions During the 2025–2026 Northwest Africa Floods

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, EarlyView.
Conceptual hydroclimatic pathway linking the concurrent negative North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) phase and weak La Niña conditions to extreme February rainfall and flash flooding in Northwest Africa. ABSTRACT The winter of 2025–2026 in Morocco exhibited a rapid hydroclimatic transition from prolonged drought to widespread flooding, representing an ...

ZMIANY CIŚNIENIA ATMOSFERYCZNEGO NAD MORZEM BARENTSA A ZMIENNOŚĆ ELEMENTÓW KLIMATYCZNYCH NAD POLSKĄ I EUROPĄ [PDF]

open access: yesPrzegląd Geofizyczny
Changes in atmospheric pressure over the Barents Sea, independently of pressure changes in the Icelandic Low, have a strong and significant impact on atmospheric pressure changes over Europe (Marsz and Styszyńska 2023b).

How I Do It: Two Novel, Low‐Cost Phonomicrosurgery Models With Open‐Source, 3D‐Printed Laryngoscopes

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, EarlyView.
Two new vocal fold microflap models using products found in any grocery store have been developed along with publicly available 3D‐printable parts for simulating multiple laryngoscopes commonly used during laryngeal phonomicrosurgery. This represents a low cost, easily reproducible model for basic laryngeal phonomicrosurgery training.

Management of Absent Upper Esophageal Sphincter Opening After Neurological Injury

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, EarlyView.
This study evaluated the effects of swallowing therapy and cricopharyngeus (CP) muscle surgery on upper esophageal sphincter (UES) opening, oral intake, and airway protection in patients with absent UES opening following neurological injury. CP‐targeted surgeries were associated with improved bolus passage and oral intake, but persistent aspiration ...

Quasiparticle properties of stationary light polaritons in atoms

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
We theoretically analyze the quasiparticle properties of stationary light polariton (SLP) modes in atoms via perturbative approaches of effective atom-light interaction Hamiltonian.

Laryngeal Cryotherapy for Neurogenic Cough: Safety, Feasibility, and Prospective Outcomes

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, EarlyView.
A prospective clinical trial investigated the safety and clinical outcomes of office‐based selective laryngeal cryotherapy for patients with refractory chronic cough. Patient were followed for 6 months posttreatment and had durable improvement in cough severity index and urge‐to‐cough scores and no serious long term adverse effects.

Nomogram for radiation-induced lymphopenia in patients receiving intensity-modulated radiotherapy based-chemoradiation therapy for newly diagnosed glioblastoma: A multi-institutional study

open access: yesClinical and Translational Radiation Oncology
Purpose: Severe lymphopenia (SLP) has emerged as a significant prognostic factor in glioblastoma. Intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT)-based radiation therapy (RT) is suggested to minimize the risk of SLP.

Outcomes of Recurrent Laryngeal Nerve Reinnervation for Pediatric Unilateral Vocal Fold Paralysis

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, EarlyView.
The objective of this study was to describe voice outcomes from the largest single‐center, single‐surgeon experience with recurrent laryngeal nerve reinnervation for pediatric unilateral vocal fold paralysis. In 102 patients who underwent reinnervation, we demonstrate that reinnervation is an effective and durable intervention for treatment of ...
