Evaluation of active ingredients and nematodes against slugs and snails on organic lettuce [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Three years trials were carried out to evaluate the efficacy of some molluscicides for the control of slugs (Arion sp.) and snails (Cepaea nemoralis and Helix aspersa) on organic lettuce in Emilia-Romagna (Italy).

Analysis of optical density wave propagation and cell movement in the cellular slime mould Dictyostelium discoideum [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
We have studied optical density wave propagation during aggregation of the cellular slime mould Dictyostelium discoideum in a quantitative manner by digital image analysis.

Advanced Separators for Liquid and Quasi‐Solid Lithium Rechargeable Batteries: Design and Development

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review traces the evolution of lithium‐ion battery separators from passive barriers to multifunctional components central to cell safety and performance. Polymer‐ceramic hybrids, nanofiber architectures, and bio‐derived membranes deliver ionic conductivities above 3 mS cm−1, thermal stability beyond 200 °C, and effective suppression of lithium ...

Sea slugs (Gastropoda: Heterobranchia) from Huatulco: new records and distribution range extensions for Oaxaca, Mexico

open access: yesRevista Mexicana de Biodiversidad
While the diversity of sea slugs in the northern area of the Pacific coast of Mexico has been studied thoroughly in the last decades, little is known about the composition of species in the southern states of Mexico.

The Saposin-Like Protein AplD Displays Pore-Forming Activity and Participates in Defense Against Bacterial Infection During a Multicellular Stage of Dictyostelium discoideum

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology, 2018
Due to their archaic life style and microbivor behavior, amoebae may represent a source of antimicrobial peptides and proteins. The amoebic protozoon Dictyostelium discoideum has been a model organism in cell biology for decades and has recently also ...

Notes on the Food of Cychrini (Coleoptera: Carabidae) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper, the food of nineteen species of Cychrini is given, for three genera: Cychrus, Scaphinotus and Sphaeroderus. The beetles of this tribe seem to be nearly exclusively carnivorous, feeding principally on snails and slugs, exceptionally on ...

Characterization and Design Framework for Micro‐ and Nanoscale Printed Metal Interconnects in Hybrid Electronic Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This work establishes a framework for high‐resolution printed interconnects by coupling e‐jet printing control, multilayer deposition, and sintering optimization. Ink properties and printing speed influence particle stacking, while different sintering atmospheres drive distinct microstructural evolution.

Dynamic Current Routing in Conductive Liquid Crystal Elastomers for Complex Deformation Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This work introduces a novel actuation control strategy in which electrical stimulation generates localized Joule heating in conductive liquid crystal elastomer (LCE) surfaces, enabling complex 3D deformations from a single homogeneous surface without preprogramming.

First records of two slug species, Limax conemenosi (O. Boettger, 1882) and Limax dacampi (Menegazzi, 1855) (Gastropoda: Limacidae) in Slovenia

open access: yesNatura Sloveniae
In Slovenia, 27 species of slugs have been confirmed so far. Distributional data for two species from the genus Limax new for the country are presented herewith.
