Abstract The present paper reviews various studies related to Slurry Erosion, its implementation in real world and properties that effect the various operations that can be carried out using slurry erosion. The real world implementations of slurry erosion are limited and the processes that can lead to its expansion in the modern day industry have ...

Erosion-Corrosion in Slurry Pipelines
Corrosion, 1974Electrochemical techniques have been used to determine the corrosion component of the erosion-corrosion of steel pipe carrying sand, iron ore, potash, limestone, and coal slurries, at commercial concentrations and velocities. The tests have shown that the presence of the solids can bring about a sharp increase in the corrosion rate, and that the effect

Erosion in seawater sand slurries
Tribology International, 1986Abstract This article describes the influence of the experimental parameters, angle of attack, slurry speed, sand particle size and sand concentration on the slurry erosion in sand-water mixtures of two reference materials, steel C22 and natural rubber.

Slurry erosion characteristics and erosion mechanisms of stainless steel
Tribology International, 2014Abstract In the present study, slurry erosion experiments of stainless steel SUS-304 were carried out using new advanced erosion test rig, where the multiphase flows of alumina sand and water were utilized as the erodents. The results show that erosion rate was initially high and gradually reduced over the testing time.

Slurry erosion properties of ceramic coatings
Wear, 1999Abstract The effectiveness of ceramic coatings on pump impellers used in the acidic gypsum-fly ash slurry environments in desulphurisers was assessed by using two kinds of slurry erosion tester. The experimental results from the two testers did not always coincide, although in general they did.

Construction of erosion–corrosion maps for erosion in aqueous slurries
Materials Science and Technology, 1996Although much research has been carried out on the erosion of materials in aqueous slurries, little attention has been given to defining transitions between erosion regimes in such environments. This is despite the large amount of work that has been carried out in this area in 'dry' high temperature corrosion environments.
