Atomistic modelling of scattering data in the Collaborative Computational Project for Small Angle Scattering (CCP-SAS)

open access: yesJournal of Applied Crystallography, 2016
The CCP-SAS project is currently developing software for the atomistic and coarse-grained molecular modelling of X-ray and neutron small-angle scattering data. Its computational framework is described, alongside applications in biology and soft matter.

Deterministic fractals: extracting additional information from small-angle scattering data

open access: yes, 2011
The small-angle scattering curves of deterministic mass fractals are studied and analyzed in the momentum space. In the fractal region, the curve I(q)q^D is found to be log-periodic with a good accuracy, and the period is equal to the scaling factor of ...

NanoMOF‐Based Multilevel Anti‐Counterfeiting by a Combination of Visible and Invisible Photoluminescence and Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

Nuclear Effects on the Extraction of $\sin^2\theta_W$

open access: yes, 2002
We study the impact of nuclear effects on the extraction of the weak-mixing angle $\sin^2\theta_W$ from deep inelastic (anti-)neutrino-nucleus scattering, with special emphasis on the recently announced NuTeV Collaboration 3$\sigma$ deviation of $\sin^2 ...

Synchrotron Radiation for Quantum Technology

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Materials and interfaces underpin quantum technologies, with synchrotron and FEL methods key to understanding and optimizing them. Advances span superconducting and semiconducting qubits, 2D materials, and topological systems, where strain, defects, and interfaces govern performance.

Measuring the Running of the Electromagnetic Coupling Alpha in Small Angle Bhabha Scattering [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We propose a method to determine the running of $\alpha_{QED}$ from the measurement of small-angle Bhabha scattering. The method is suited to high statistics experiments at $e^{+} e^{-}$ colliders, which are equipped with luminometers in the appropriate ...
