Organoids in pediatric cancer research
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Small scale gold mining effects on the miners and local communities in semi-arid region of Ethiopia
North Ethiopian highlands are traditionally known for gold mining which has been means of livelihood of the rural community. The present work was conducted to investigate socio-economic conditions of gold miners, ways of obtaining the gold, their earning

Small Scale Kinematic Dynamos: Beyond the α-Effect
In geodynamo simulations which simulate the generation of an axial dipolar magnetic field, the generation mechanism appears to be adequately described as an α2-dynamo with an anisotropic α-effect. The anisotropy in the α-effect favors an equatorial dipole field, however, which calls into question the interpretation in terms of an α2-dynamo. It is shown

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Swedish small-scale fisheries in the Baltic Sea : Decline, diversity and development
Can Swedish small-scale fisheries escape decline and live up to their attributed potential to make fisheries more sustainable? Here we address this question by highlighting diversity within these fisheries.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Small-scale CMB cosmological information [PDF]
The small-scale CMB angular power spectrum contains many contaminants from secondary anisotropies created by large-scale structures. Although their contribution is taken into account in the analyses, their cosmological dependence is often ignored.
