Hybrid-mode control for grid-connected inverters and characteristics comparison with current-source mode and voltage-source mode

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
The grid-connected inverters (GCIs) controlled by traditional Current-Source Mode (CSM) and Voltage-Source Mode (VSM) face challenges in simultaneously meeting the requirements for small-signal stability, power-response, and grid-support.

Coupling Influence on the dq Impedance Stability Analysis for the Three-Phase Grid-Connected Inverter

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
The dq impedance stability analysis for a grid-connected current-control inverter is based on the impedance ratio matrix. However, the coupled matrix brings difficulties in deriving its eigenvalues for the analysis based on the general Nyquist criterion.

Sagnac interferometry with coherent vortex superposition states in exciton-polariton condensates

open access: yes, 2015
We investigate prospects of using counter-rotating vortex superposition states in non-equilibrium exciton-polariton Bose-Einstein condensates for the purposes of Sagnac interferometry. We first investigate the stability of vortex-antivortex superposition

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Magnetic properties of photospheric regions having very low magnetic flux

open access: yes, 2001
The magnetic properties of the quiet Sun are investigated using a novel inversion code, FATIMA, based on the Principal Component Analysis of the observed Stokes profiles.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Two-Stage Small-Signal Stability-Assisted Framework Using Controllable Loads in Reconfigurable Microgrids

open access: yesIEEE Open Access Journal of Power and Energy
Reconfiguration in low-inertia microgrids (MGs) can often result in a critical small-signal stability margin. In this condition, the ability of inverter-based resources (IBRs) to provide voltage and frequency support may be insufficient.

Small Signal Stability Analysis of Grid Connected Photovoltaic

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, 2017
This paper primarily focuses on the small signal stability analysis of a power system integrated with solar photovoltaics (PV). The test system used in this study is the IEEE 39-bus. The small signal stability of the test system are investigated in terms of eigenvalue analysis, damped frequency, damping ratio and participation factor.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).
