Small current neutral grounding system is widely used in 3~66 kV power distribution system in China. In this power system, the single-phase to-earth fault occurs frequently in distribution, thus how to detect the fault line with great accuracy and high efficiency is an important subject in protective relaying of power system.

Research on Ferroresonance Detection in Small Current Neutral Grounding System
A novel method to detect ferroresonance was proposed based on the drastic characteristics of the electromagnetic voltage transformer (PT) current rate. This scheme takes current rate which is greater than a threshold value as starting signal and judges the occurrence of resonance by detecting duty ratio of the peaks and interval angles.

Research on fault line selection in small-current neutral grounding power system
A method of fault line selection was proposed based on fault grounded point transfer and wavelet transform in small-current neutral grounding system in this paper. Phase-separation vacuum circuit breaker was installed in the busbar and realize fault grounded point transfer through vacuum breaker of fault phase when single-phase-to-ground fault occurs ...

Research about single-phase fault feeder selection of small current neutral grounding system
The reliability of selecting the power lines of single-phase fault in small current grounding system is rather low because the fault current is too little, the electric arc is unstable, the electromagnetic interference is strong and the SNR is low.

Comparing with low-Impedance faults(LIFs), the high-impedance faults(HIFs) in the small current neutral grounding system has a small fault current, poor stability, so that the diagnosis are more difficult. In recent years, the isolation technique level of small current grounding fault has been improved, a variety of line selection and location ...
