Intervention With Lacticaseibacillus paracasei PC‐01 Fermented Milk Beverage Ameliorates Functional Dyspepsia and Modulates Gut Microbiome: A Pilot Study

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 7, July 2026.
This study confirmed that intake of the Lacticaseibacillus paracasei PC‐01 fermented milk beverage can significantly alleviate symptoms in patients with functional dyspepsia. It markedly increases the abundances of Lacticaseibacillus paracasei and Blautia, while reducing the abundance of Enterobacter roggenkampi.

Mesenteric Lymphatic Dysfunction as the Initiating Event in Crohn's Disease: Toward an Outside‐In Paradigm

open access: yesJCC Plus, Volume 1, Issue 4, July 2026.
Mesenteric lymphatic dysfunction promotes immune cell accumulation and chronic inflammation, leading to creeping fat formation. Progressive activity drives transmural inflammation. ABSTRACT Crohn's disease (CD) has traditionally been explained by an “inside‐out” model, in which disruption of the intestinal mucosal barrier allows luminal bacteria to ...

Invasive plant species for compost production: Review of environmental and economic insights

open access: yesJournal of Environmental Quality, Volume 55, Issue 4, July/August 2026.
Abstract Invasive plant species pose significant ecological and economic challenges, threatening biodiversity and altering soil properties, while conventional control methods are often costly and resource‐intensive. This review examines the potential of composting invasive plant biomass as a viable and sustainable alternative that aligns with circular ...

Metabolic Dysfunction‐Associated Fatty Liver Disease: From Pathogenesis to Treatment

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 7, July 2026.
Extracellular vesicles play a crucial role in interorgan crosstalk of adipose–liver and gut–liver axes and hold potential as therapeutic targets and drug delivery systems for metabolic dysfunction‐associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD). Abbreviations: AT: adipose tissue; EVs: extracellular vesicles; HL: healthy liver; NAFL: nonalcoholic fatty liver ...

Microwave‐Actuated CuS/CuCo2O4 Heterojunction Microneedles for Synergistic Eradication of Deep‐Seated Biofilms and Inflammatory Microenvironment Remodeling in Acne Treatment

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Deep skin infections and dense biofilm barriers caused by Propionibacterium acnes (P. acnes) remain significant challenges in recurrent acne vulgaris, exacerbated by the poor stratum corneum penetration of conventional therapies and rising antibiotic resistance.
