BaAFN: A Boundary-Aware Attention Fusion Network for Remote Sensing Semantic Segmentation

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing
The performance of remote sensing semantic segmentation on object boundaries and small objects continues to pose a significant challenge due to the semantics near them being complex and ambiguous.

The Load Supported by Small Floating Objects

open access: yesLangmuir, 2006
We consider the equilibrium flotation of a two-dimensional cylinder and a sphere at an interface between two fluids. We give conditions on the density and radius of these objects for them to be able to float at the interface and discuss the role played by the contact angle in determining these conditions. For cylinders with a small radius, we find that

Re‐Irradiation in Pediatric Diffuse Midline Glioma: A Multi‐Institutional Retrospective Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Children with recurrent diffuse midline gliomas (DMGs) have limited therapeutic options at recurrence. Re‐irradiation (RT2) may be used at progression, but with uncertainty about the benefit. Methods We conducted a multi‐institutional retrospective study of children aged < 18 with DMG treated at three centers (Toronto, Canada ...

Improved Multi-Size, Multi-Target and 3D Position Detection Network for Flowering Chinese Cabbage Based on YOLOv8

open access: yesPlants
Accurately detecting the maturity and 3D position of flowering Chinese cabbage (Brassica rapa var. chinensis) in natural environments is vital for autonomous robot harvesting in unstructured farms. The challenge lies in dense planting, small flower buds,

CFT description of small objects in AdS [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2000
By the AdS/CFT correspondence, the expectation value of certain local operators in the CFT is given by the asymptotic value of supergravity fields. We show that these local expectation values contain a remarkable amount of information about small sources deep inside AdS_p x S^q. In particular, they contain essentially all the multipole moments.

Association Between Dinutuximab Beta Exposure and Post‐End‐of‐Treatment Survival in Neuroblastoma: A Weighted Patient‐Level Analysis of Three Clinical Studies

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives The association between exposure to dinutuximab beta (DB) and event‐free survival (EFS) or overall survival (OS) of neuroblastoma patients was assessed using data collected during three clinical trials (five cohorts). Methods A systematic review (March 2026) was conducted to identify relevant studies (prospective; registered DB ...

Interactive object contour extraction for shape modeling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
In this paper we present a semi-automatic segmentation approach suitable for extracting object contours as a precursor to 2D shape modeling. The approach is a modified and extended version of an existing state-of-the-art approach based on the concept of ...

Downsampling GAN for Small Object Data Augmentation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
The limited visual information provided by small objects—under 32 32 pixels—makes small object detection a particularly challenging problem for current detectors.

Measurable Residual Disease Monitoring During Treatment for Pediatric Acute Myeloid Leukemia in First Relapse

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Survival after relapse in pediatric acute myeloid leukemia (AML) remains poor, highlighting the critical importance of identifying prognostic factors to guide optimal relapse management. Methods We investigated the prognostic impact of multiparameter flow cytometry (MFC) measurable residual disease (MRD) in 188 patients with first ...

Object relations in personality disorder: development of the "Problematic Object Representation Scales" (PORS) for the AAI. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Over the past years, there has been an increasing interest in assessing object relations and studying the relationship between problematic object representations and different types of psychological disturbance.
