How to Make the Physical Parameters Small [PDF]
We study the evolution of the physical parameter values defined at the sub-planckian energies to values at low energies. The Wilson action is the basis of the research. The presence of the compact extra dimensions has two consequences. The positive point is that the integration over extra dimensions is a promising way to substantially reduce the ...

Regular maps with small parameters [PDF]
AbstractRegular maps of type {p, q}r and the associated groups Gp,q,r are considered for small values for p, q and r. In particular, it is shown that the groups G4,6,6 and G5,5,6 are Abelian-by-infinite, and there are infinitely many regular maps of each of the types {4, 6}6, {5, 5}6, {5, 6}6 and {6, 6}6.

Muonium as a shallow center in GaN [PDF]
A paramagnetic muonium (Mu) state with an extremely small hyperfine parameter was observed for the first time in single-crystalline GaN below 25 K. It has a highly anisotropic hyperfine structure with axial symmetry along the [0001] direction, suggesting

Topological Phase Transitions from Harper to Fibonacci Crystals
Topological properties of Harper and generalized Fibonacci chains are studied in crystalline cases, i.e., for rational values of the modulation frequency.

Influence of Context on Item Parameters in Forced-Choice Personality Assessments [PDF]
A fundamental assumption in computerized adaptive testing (CAT) is that item parameters are invariant with respect to context – items surrounding the administered item.

A Phase Transition between Small and Large Field Models of Inflation
We show that models of inflection point inflation exhibit a phase transition from a region in parameter space where they are of large field type to a region where they are of small field type.

ABSTRACT Purpose Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a common complication in survivors of childhood acute lymphoblastic and myeloid leukemia (AL), and a major risk factor for premature cardiovascular disease, type‐2‐diabetes, and metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD).

Small parameters in infrared quantum chromodynamics [PDF]
We study the long-distance properties of quantum chromodynamics in an expansion in powers of the three-gluon, four-gluon, and ghost-gluon couplings, but without expanding in the quark-gluon coupling. This is motivated by two observations. First, the gauge sector is well-described by perturbation theory in the context of a phenomenological model with a ...

Mechanisms of nonstoichiometry in HfN1-x [PDF]
Density functional theory is used to calculate defect structures that can accommodate nonstoichiometry in hafnium nitride: HfN1-x, 0 ≤ X ≤ 0.25. It is predicted that a mechanism assuming simple distributions of nitrogen vacancies can accurately describe ...
