Smart Contracts for Bribing Miners [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
We present three smart contracts that allow a briber to fairly exchange bribes to miners who pursue a mining strategy benefiting the briber. The first contract, CensorshipCon, highlights that Ethereum’s uncle block reward policy can directly subsidise the cost of bribing miners.

Solid Particle‐Liquid Metal Mixtures for Robust High‐Current Interconnects in Stretchable Electronics and Soft Robotics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Metallic microparticles dispersed in liquid metal interconnects mitigate electromigration‐induced failure by reconfiguring internal current density distributions. These fillers facilitate the growth of a robust, protective gallium oxide shell at elevated temperatures, shifting the failure threshold toward a thermal limit.

The Smart Contract Model

open access: yesCoRR
Many of the problems that arise in the context of blockchains and decentralized finance can be seen as variations on classical problems of distributed computing. The smart contract model proposed here is intended to capture both the similarities and the differences between classical and blockchain-based models of distributed computing.
