Model‐Based Synchronization of Dielectric Elastomers and Membrane Pumps for Performance‐Optimized, Space‐Efficient, and Application‐Specific Pump Design

open access: yesEngineering Reports
This work presents a new approach to designing high‐performance and efficient pumps based on dielectric elastomer actuators. By considering the entire system including load from the beginning of the design process, the advantages of dielectric elastomers

Robust porous hydrogen-bonded organic frameworks: Synthesis and applications in gas adsorption and separation

open access: yesGiant, 2023
Being an emerging family of crystalline porous materials, hydrogen-bonded organic frameworks (HOFs) are types of ordered supramolecular structures that constructed from organic linkers (including those with organometallic units) via mainly hydrogen bonds.

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Forisome based biomimetic smart materials

open access: yes, 2022
S.225-235With the discovery in plants of the proteinaceous forisome crystalloid (Knoblauch, et al. 2003), a novel, non-living, ATP-independent biological material became available to the designer of smart materials for advanced actuating and sensing. The

Effect of Piezo-Embedded Inverted Flag in Free Shear Layer Wake

open access: yesAerospace, 2019
The use of flexible inverted piezo embedded Polyvinylidene Difluoride (PVDF) as a simultaneous energy harvester and as a wake sensor is explored. The oscillation amplitude (characterized by voltage output) and oscillation frequency of the piezo-embedded ...

PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.
