Light Switchable Ionic Conductivity of Arylazopyrazole Modified Polysiloxanes

Advanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
We present a polysiloxane functionalized with a novel arylazopyrazole dye that undergoes reversible photoisomerization. Upon lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide addition and UV irradiation, the polymer exhibits a shift in tan(d) toward higher frequencies and enhanced ionic conductivity.

Europe is highly competitive in the general field of smart urban mobility. Urbanization is advanced and population density is high, we therefore are familiar with the challenges. Smart is not necessarily high-tech. “Smart” is bright, quick-witted, sharp. We have been that in the past. This is no guarantee for being smart in the future though.
