Antibacterial and smear layer removal capability of oregano extract solution [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Dentistry, 2015
ABSTRACT Objective: The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate the antimicrobial effect of oregano extract solution (OES) against Enterococcus faecalis within root canals and dentin tubules, and its effect on smear layer. Materials and Methods: A total of 180 human maxillary central incisors was selected.

Energetic Offset in Organic Solar Cells‐ Importance, Confusion and Outlook

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Energetic offsets in organic solar cells (OSCs) remain a subject of debate due to measurement‐ and lab‐dependent discrepancies. This Perspective clarifies the physical origins of these variations and identifies temperature‐dependent electro‐optical methods as a reliable approach to obtain consistent offset values.

Effect of 5% Carbohydrate Derived-Fulvic Acid on Smear Layer Removal and Root Dentin Microhardness – An In Vitro study

open access: yesEuropean Endodontic Journal, 2022
Objective: To compare the ability of 5% carbohydrate derived-fulvic acid (CHD-FA) with 17%ethylenediamine tetraaceticacid (EDTA) on smear layer removal when used as a final irrigant, and to assess their effect on root dentin microhardness.

Parity‐Dependent THz Harmonic Generation in Electrically Pumped Micro‐Lasers Exploiting Topological Insulator–Metamaterial Gratings

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Topological insulator–metamaterials integrated with electrically driven terahertz quantum cascade lasers enable parity‐dependent harmonic generation. Bulk‐dominated Bi2Se3 favors third‐harmonic emission at 9.96 THz, whereas topological‐surface‐state‐dominated Bi2Se3, Bi2Te3, and (Bi,Sb)2Te3 generate strong second harmonics near 6.5 THz.

Effect of polymer-based rotary file in root canal irrigation on smear layer removal: a SEM study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Introduction: Removing of smear layer is an essential step for endodontic success. Smear layer is composed of an amorphous layer of organic and inorganic materials.

Robust Spin Splitting and Fermiology in the Layered Altermagnet CoNb4${\rm CoNb}_4$Se8${\rm Se}_8$

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The emergence of an altermagnetic phase is demonstrated in the cobalt‐intercalated superconducting 2H‐NbSe2 polymorph. A combined theoretical and experimental approach directly probes the magnetism, the altermagnetic lifting of Kramers degeneracy, and the electronic phase space, establishing CoNb4Se8 as the first g‐wave altermagnetic layered material ...

Linking Polyelectrolyte Modification and Enzyme‐Catalyzed Phenolic Acid Functionalization of Cellulose Fiber for Functional Foams

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Cellulose fibers functionalized using cationic poly(Dimethyldiallylammonium chloride) (polyDADMAC) and laccase‐mediated ferulic acid system are processed into foams using different surfactants (Anionic, cationic, and non‐ionic). Fiber–surfactant interactions influence foam stabilization and porous structure formation during convective drying, producing
