Chelation‐Driven Dual‐Interface Regulation for Long‐Life Aqueous Zn–I2 Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Zn2+–TPEN coordination generates TPEN‐derived coordination species (TCC) that contribute to the regulation of both electrode interfaces. At the Zn anode, it creates an interfacial environment with reduced water accessibility that suppresses HER and corrosion while promoting uniform deposition; at the I2 cathode, it captures polyiodide to inhibit ...

Smear layer removal in canals shaped with reciprocating rotary systems

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Experimental Dentistry, 2013
The aim was to assess the presence of smear layer after canal instrumentation with two reciprocating rotary systems and a continuous motion one. Thirty canals were shaped with Reciproc, WaveOne or Mtwo systems. Smear layer was assessed following a three value scale at coronal, middle and apical levels with a scanning electron microscopy.

Effects of different irrigation solutions on root dentine microhardness, smear layer removal and erosion

open access: yes, 2013
This study aimed to compare the effects of different irrigants on root dentine microhardness, erosion and smear layer removal. A total of 72 root dentine slices were divided into six groups, according to the final irrigants used: Group 1: 17 ...

Smear Layer in Endodontics: A review of its role and management

open access: yes, 2020
Whatever the technique used for root canal instrumentation; a layer of debris termed “smear layer” is formed. This is a layer composed of an organic and inorganic substance and it harbors bacteria and their by-products.

Comparative Evaluation of Smear Layer Removal Using Four Different Irrigation Techniques: An in-vitro Study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
INTRODUCTION: Irrigation is the vital part of root canal debridement. Usually post biomechanical preparation, the canal walls are covered by smear layer. It is important to remove this layer before obturation for better bond between the filling and walls.

Influence of Ru Content on Defect Formation and Electrocatalytic Activity of Au‐Pd‐Pt‐Ru Compositionally Complex Solid Solution Thin Films for the Hydrogen Evolution Reaction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Transmission electron microscopy reveals that the formation of planar defects in Au–Pd–Pt–Ru CCSS thin films depends on Ru content, which in turn influences hydrogen evolution reaction electrocatalytic activity. As the Ru content increases, the density of nanotwins initially rises; with further Ru addition, stacking faults form.

Neuron‐Derived Vesicular circMagi1 Restrains Vascular Repair After Ischemic Stroke by Promoting TRIM65‐Mediated ANXA2 Degradation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
After ischemic stroke, injured neurons transfer circMagi1 to endothelial cells through extracellular vesicles. Within endothelial cells, circMagi1 binds ANXA2 and enhances its engagement with TRIM65, promoting ANXA2 ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation to constrain angiogenic repair.

Degrading GPX4 via Biomimetic Nanoparticle‐Mediated In Situ Synthesis of Deep‐Learning‐Designed Binder‐Degron Chimeras for Prostate Cancer Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A deep‐learning‐designed binder is fused to a combinatorial degron to create a binder‐degron chimera (bdC) that recruits the CUL2‐RING ubiquitin ligase complex. Encapsulation in a prostate‐cancer‐targeted, CD47‐camouflaged nanocarrier enables tumor‐specific in situ bdC expression, triggering GPX4 degradation and ferroptosis, thereby establishing a ...
