A Comparative evaluation of smear layer removal using: sonic, ultrasonic, and erbium, chromium: yttrium scandium gallium garnet Laser as activated irrigation techniques (an SEM study) .

open access: yesErbil Dental Journal, 2023
Background and Objectives: In root canal treatment it is important to provide a reliable method that effectively removes the smear layer to ensure more successful results in endodontic treatment.

Effect of Smear Layer Removal Agent and/or Fluoride on the Surface of Dentin.

open access: yesThe Journal of Nihon University School of Dentistry, 1994
A study was conducted to observe the effectiveness of an EDTA-based agent, Tubulicid Red, and a polyacrylic acid-based agent, Dentin Conditioner, for removal of the smear layer from a prepared dentin surface, with or without a fluoride dentin reinforcing agent, using the dye penetration test and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).

WFS1 Deficiency Impairs PIAS4‐Associated SUMOylation and Increases Ubiquitin‐Mediated Spermatogenesis‐Related Protein Degradation Leading to Testicular Male Infertility

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The findings establish a critical role for WFS1 in human male fertility. Mechanistically, WFS1 interacts with PIAS4 to promote the SUMOylation of key spermatogenesis‐associated proteins, which in turn competitively inhibits their K48‐linked ubiquitin‐mediated degradation during spermatogenesis.

Data‐Driven and Physics‐Informed Modeling Perspectives for Soft Manipulators: From SINDy to Hybrid Intelligence

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This Perspective charts the modeling landscape for soft manipulators, spanning sparse system identification, neural dynamics, physics‐informed models and hybrid intelligence. We examine how physics, data, sensing, adaptation and control can assume complementary roles within this landscape, and provide a framework for selecting modeling approaches ...

Spatiotemporal Computational Meta‐Imager for Broadband Dual‐Layer Optical Convolution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A single‐layer polarization‐multiplexed meta‐imager achieves factorized dual‐layer broadband convolution via spatiotemporal kernel decomposition. Fixed Bessel‐vortex bases and time‐sequential liquid‐crystal modulation deliver tunable signed weights and in‐situ fabrication‐error compensation. Experiments verify improved classification performance across

Probe‐Free, Primer‐Programmed Amplicon Encoding Enables Nanopore‐Based Multiplex Detection With Deep Learning Decoding

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Primer‐programmed amplicon encoding enables reporter‐probe‐free multiplex nucleic acid identification using glass nanopore sensing and deep neural network decoding. ABSTRACT Single‐reaction multiplex nucleic acid testing (NATs) must both co‐amplify multiple targets and distinguish the resulting amplicons within the product mixture.

Smear layer management in endodontics: An update on commonly available materials [PDF]

open access: yes
The smear layer is a thin layer of tooth tissue, bacteria and infected dentine that is intimately attached to the wall of root canals. It is created during any instrumentation of the root canal and inhibits microbe removal from dentine tubules and ...
