Smoothened regulation in the Hedgehog signaling pathway [PDF]
Hedgehog signaling is a pathway essential in embryonic development, adult stem cell maintenance, and is implicated in the formation and progression of cancer. Signaling in this pathway is triggered when the secreted protein Hedgehog binds to its membrane

Discovery of NVP-LDE225, a potent and selective biphenyl-3-carboxamide smoothened antagonist.
Blockade of aberrant hedgehog (Hh) signaling has shown promise for therapeutic intervention in cancer. A cell-based phenotypic high throughput screen was performed, and lead structure (1) was identified as an inhibitor of the Hh pathway via antagonism ...

A Q‐Learning Algorithm to Solve the Two‐Player Zero‐Sum Game Problem for Nonlinear Systems
A Q‐learning algorithm to solve the two‐player zero‐sum game problem for nonlinear systems. ABSTRACT This paper deals with the two‐player zero‐sum game problem, which is a bounded L2$$ {L}_2 $$‐gain robust control problem. Finding an analytical solution to the complex Hamilton‐Jacobi‐Issacs (HJI) equation is a challenging task.

Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

Laser Powder Bed Fusion of Alumina: Effects of Scanning Strategies on External and Internal Defects
This study investigates how scanning strategies affect pure alumina in laser powder bed fusion. Linear 45° scanning yields uniform surfaces but high porosity, while the island‐concentric strategy provides higher density with through‐holes favorable for infiltration. Findings highlight pathways toward optimizing defect‐free alumina parts.
