Estimation of Double Smoothing Parameters with Simulation [PDF]

open access: yesAl-Rafidain Journal of Computer Sciences and Mathematics, 2004
In this paper we estimate that the equation of smoothing to the first Smoothing is the same equation of double exponentioal smoothing, and finding the equation of prediction of two state first: the variance of the original time cerise  xt ,( σ2xt )is the

Fluid Biomarkers of Disease Burden and Cognitive Dysfunction in Progressive Supranuclear Palsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Identifying objective biomarkers for progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) is crucial to improving diagnosis and establishing clinical trial and treatment endpoints. This study evaluated fluid biomarkers in PSP versus controls and their associations with regional 18F‐PI‐2620 tau‐PET, clinical, and cognitive outcomes.

Locally Regularized Smoothing B-Snake

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2007
We propose a locally regularized snake based on smoothing-spline filtering. The proposed algorithm associates a regularization process with a force equilibrium scheme leading the snake's deformation.

Unsupervised estimation of dirichlet smoothing parameters

open access: yesProceedings of the 33rd international ACM SIGIR conference on Research and development in information retrieval, 2010
A standard approach for determining a Dirichlet smoothing parameter is to choose a value which maximizes a retrieval performance metric using training data consisting of queries and relevance judgments. There are, however, situations where training data does not exist or the queries and relevance judgments do not reflect typical user information needs ...

Development of a Personalized Visualization and Analysis Tool to Improve Clinical Care in Complex Multisystem Diseases With Application to Scleroderma

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective In complex diseases, it is challenging to assess a patient's disease state, trajectory, treatment exposures, and risk of multiple outcomes simultaneously, efficiently, and at the point of care. Methods We developed an interactive patient‐level data visualization and analysis tool (VAT) that automates illustration of the trajectory of a ...

Empirical Smoothing Parameter Selection in Adaptive Estimation

open access: yesThe Annals of Statistics, 1992
The paper deals with selecting the smoothing parameter involved in the construction of adaptive estimates for the symmetric location model. In \textit{P. J. Bickel's} [Ann. Stat. 10, 647-671 (1982; Zbl 0489.62033)] original paper on adaptivity a necessary condition for adaption was given.

A Q‐Learning Algorithm to Solve the Two‐Player Zero‐Sum Game Problem for Nonlinear Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, Volume 39, Issue 3, Page 566-581, March 2025.
A Q‐learning algorithm to solve the two‐player zero‐sum game problem for nonlinear systems. ABSTRACT This paper deals with the two‐player zero‐sum game problem, which is a bounded L2$$ {L}_2 $$‐gain robust control problem. Finding an analytical solution to the complex Hamilton‐Jacobi‐Issacs (HJI) equation is a challenging task.

Hopfield Neural Networks for Online Constrained Parameter Estimation With Time‐Varying Dynamics and Disturbances

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This paper proposes two projector‐based Hopfield neural network (HNN) estimators for online, constrained parameter estimation under time‐varying data, additive disturbances, and slowly drifting physical parameters. The first is a constraint‐aware HNN that enforces linear equalities and inequalities (via slack neurons) and continuously tracks the ...

An Adaptive Human Pilot Model With Reaction Time Delay for Enhanced Adaptive Control in Piloted Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This work introduces an adaptive human pilot model that captures pilot time‐delay effects in adaptive control systems. The model enables the prediction of pilot–controller interactions, facilitating safer integration and improved design of adaptive controllers for piloted applications.
