Smoothing Newton method for NCP with the identification of degenerate indices
A new smoothing Gauss-Newton method for nonlinear complementarity prolems (NCP) by using a NPC-function for reformulation of the original problem. The method, based on active-set strategy, contains an estimating technique for the determination of the degenerate set of indices at the solution \(x^*\) under suitable regularity conditions.

Rethinking ecosystem service indicators for their application to intermittent rivers [PDF]
In these times of strong pressure on aquatic ecosystems and water resources due to climate change and water abstraction, intermittent rivers and ephemeral streams (IRES) (rivers that periodically cease to flow and/or dry) have become valuable assets ...

Statistical Analysis and Kinematic Assessment of Upper Limb Reaching Task in Parkinson’s Disease
The impact of neurodegenerative disorders is twofold; they affect both quality of life and healthcare expenditure. In the case of Parkinson’s disease, several strategies have been attempted to support the pharmacological treatment with rehabilitation ...

An improved third-order HWCNS scheme based on the multi-order candidates (MOC) weighting framework
To mitigate the order reduction of traditional third-order Z-type nonlinear weighted interpolation, a theoretical analysis method based on Taylor expansion is proposed for the order-of-magnitude relationships of smoothness indicators near critical points.

An efficient method for smoothing indicator-dilution and other unimodal curves [PDF]
A mathematical function has been developed for approximating unimodal functions, particularly those which are non-Gaussian, skewed, and incomplete. It is useful as an alternative to cubic splines in smoothing noisy experimental data. Particular applications are to indicator-dilution curves and probability density functions of varied form.

Research on curve smoothing algorithm for diesel indicator diagram [PDF]
The algorithm of curve smoothing for diesel indicator diagram is introduced, and the concrete implementation process is expounded in detail. First, the multi cyclic mean value operation of indicator diagram data is performed. By probable error of calculating indicator diagram data, if probable error is greater than a specific value, and the predicted ...
