A smoothness indicator for numerical solutions to the Ripa model

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2016
The Ripa model is the system of shallow water equations taking the water temperature fluctuations into account. For one-dimensional case, the Ripa model consists of three partial differential equations relating to three primitive variables, namely water depth, velocity, and temperature.

Neuropsychological and Educational Outcomes in Shwachman–Diamond Syndrome—A Report From the North American Shwachman–Diamond Syndrome Registry

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Shwachman–Diamond syndrome (SDS) is a rare autosomal recessive ribosomopathy characterized by bone marrow failure and multisystem involvement, with emerging evidence of associated neurocognitive impairment. Methods We conducted a retrospective study of 240 individuals with biallelic Shwachman–Bodian–Diamond syndrome (SBDS) mutations

Forecasting the Dialysis Burden in Japan: Validation‐Based Projections of Prevalence and Incidence Through 2050

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Japan has one of the highest dialysis prevalence rates worldwide and a shrinking, aging population. Whether dialysis burden has entered a sustained post‐peak phase or whether recent declines partly reflect pandemic‐related disruptions remains uncertain.

Transmission Characteristics and Experiment of Hydraulic–Mechanical Transmission of Cotton Picker

open access: yesAgriculture
To overcome the issue of unstable speed output encountered by cotton pickers operating in harsh environments and subject to frequent external load fluctuations, a hydraulic–mechanical transmission (HMT) for cotton pickers is proposed in this study.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Two noise-robust axial scanning multi-image phase retrieval algorithms based on Pauta criterion and smoothness constraint.

open access: yesOptics Express, 2017
We proposed two noise-robust iterative methods for phase retrieval and diffractive imaging based on the Pauta criterion and the smoothness constraint. The work is to address the noise issue plaguing the application of iterative phase retrieval algorithms
