Large‐scale Whole‐Exome Sequencing Defines the Protein‐Coding Architecture of Retinal Structure, Visual Function, and Major Blinding Diseases

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Large‐scale whole‐exome sequencing in 356,982 UK Biobank participants defines the protein‐coding architecture of retinal structure, visual function, and major blinding diseases. Pleiotropic genes, including CFI, C3, and RIOX1, bridge multiple retinal phenotypes, while experimental validation of FYB2 implicates RPE barrier dysfunction, providing ...

Beyond Traditional Phenolics: Disulfide Bonds for Performance Enhancement of Aerospace Ablation‐Resistant Materials from Processing to Recycling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The dynamic disulfide bonds facilitated the development of high‐performance aerospace ablation‐resistant materials. At moderate temperature, the dissociation and recombination of disulfide bonds ensured excellent processability, mechanical properties, and recycling ability of phenolic resin; at high temperature, cleavage of disulfide bonds produced ...

Breakthrough Design of Highly Potent Antivirals Against Wild‐Type HIV‐1 and Lenacapavir‐Resistant M66I Variant

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Lenacapavir, the first‐in‐class drug targeting HIV‐1 capsid, is a breakthrough drug in HIV‐1 treatment and prophylaxis. However, a single M66I mutation confers complete viral resistance to lenacapavir. We report herein the design and synthesis of innovative R2 analogs demonstrating low nM potency against HIV‐1 M66I and excellent pharmacokinetics in ...

Stacking Pressure‐Driven Interfacial Dynamics in Anode‐Free Solid‐State Lithium Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using a three‐electrode setup, it is found that stacking pressure improves both anode and cathode interfaces but more effectively stabilizes the anode. Under low pressure, a sudden anode resistance rise indicates contact loss. Higher pressure delays this via Li creep and plastic deformation, maintaining interfacial contact.
