Ligand‐Defined Interfacial Chemistry Enables Instant and Sequence‐General DNA Chemisorption on Gold Nanoparticles Toward Label‐Free SERS With Single‐Base Resolution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 46, 17 August 2026.
Ascorbic Acid‐Engineered Interface Enables Universal DNA Functionalization on Gold Nanoparticles: Attenuating electrostatic repulsion and leveraging synergistic hydrogen‐bonding interactions significantly lowers the kinetic barrier for DNA adsorption, enabling rapid and sequence‐general functionalization of non‐thiolated DNA‐requiring only a single ...

An AI‐Supported Adaptive Learning Environment for Arabic Reading Development: A Quasi‐Experimental Study in Primary Education

open access: yesApplied Research, Volume 5, Issue 4, August 2026.
An AI‐supported adaptive learning environment significantly improved primary pupils' Arabic reading, pronunciation and fluency compared to conventional instruction, with a large effect size (Cohen's d = 0.82), highlighting AI's potential to personalise early Arabic literacy instruction.

A Deep Learning Model for Decadal Indian Ocean Dipole

open access: yesAtmospheric Science Letters, Volume 27, Issue 8, August 2026.
This study develops a deep learning model based on a bidirectional gated recurrent unit (BiGRU) to predict the decadal Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD). Using CMIP6 DCPP models, we first assess IOD predictability, then show the BiGRU model achieves substantially higher skill than traditional dynamical models.

Orthodontics‐Assisted Autogenous Tooth Transplantation for Maxillary Incisor Injury in Pediatric Patient With Crowding and Class II Malocclusion: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical and Experimental Dental Research, Volume 12, Issue 4, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives This case report describes orthodontics‐assisted autogenous tooth transplantation for a maxillary incisor injury in a pediatric patient with crowding and Class II malocclusion. Material and Methods A 10‐year‐old boy presented with a compromised maxillary left central incisor with a periapical lesion after failed endodontic treatment,

In A Class of Their Own: Multiclass Random Forests Reveal Distinct Habitat Needs of Fledglings Relative to Adults in Two Grassland Birds

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 8, August 2026.
Adults and juveniles across taxa often have unique habitat needs as a result of differing selective pressures during these periods, and such differences may inform the conservation and management of species. Here, we apply a novel multiclass analytic approach to compare the habitat use of nesting adults and fledglings in two declining grassland bird ...
