E-beam deposited SnO2, Pt–SnO2 and Pd–SnO2 thin films for LPG detection

Abstract The electron-beam evaporation method was used to deposit undoped and Pt (or Pd) doped SnO 2 thin films. After careful study of their physical properties, SnO 2 thin films with suitable growth conditions were selected for probing their response to LPG and other common household gases.

SnO2@MCC and SnO2@C Composites: Synthesis and Properties

A method is advanced to prepare SnO2@MCC composites in the course of hydrolysis of flax cellulose fiber by SnCl2-containing 10% aqueous nitric acid. The thus-prepared SnO2@MCC composites have a tin dioxide average crystallite size of 3.8 nm. SnO2@MCC pyrolysis under an inert atmosphere yield carbon composites SnO2@C and SnO2/Sn@C.

Electroless deposition of Sno2 and antimony doped SnO2 films

Abstract Thin polycrystalline films of SnO 2 and antimony doped SnO 2 have been prepared by simple economic electroless deposition technique. The transmittance in the visible range and the reflectance in the i.r. range for SnO 2 films are ∼80% and ∼70%, respectively, with resistivity ∼10 −2 Ω cm.

Abstract Crystals of IrO 2 , SnO 2 , and SnO 2 :IrO 2 have been grown by chemical vapor transport. The IrO 2 crystals are larger than any previously reported. The SnO 2 and SnO 2 :IrO 2 crystals are optically clear and are suitable for optical properties studies. This is the first report on the growth of SnO 2 :IrO 2 crystals.
