Room temperature highly toxic NO2 gas sensors based on rootstock/scion nanowires of SnO2/ZnO, ZnO/SnO2, SnO2/SnO2 and, ZnO/ZnO

Sensors and Actuators B: Chemical, 2021
Abstract Grafted structures between SnO2 and ZnO nanowires were realized in a two-step process of growth. First, the rootstocks of SnO2 or ZnO nanowires were synthesized by thermal evaporation technique. Second, a thin Au layer was sputter deposited on the sample and synthesis of nanowire scions of ZnO or SnO2, respectively, on the rootstocks was ...

Enhanced pseudocapacitive performance of SnO2, Zn-SnO2, and Ag-SnO2 nanoparticles

Ionics, 2018
Metal-doped tin oxide is gathering interest in the field of energy storage and power supply devices, particularly in supercapacitors applications. In the present study, we adopt a hydrothermal method to synthesis SnO2, Zn-SnO2, Ag-SnO2 nanoparticles at suitable conditions of temperature, pH, reaction time, and capping agents (CTAB).

SnO2:Eu nanocrystallites in SnO2 monolithic xerogels

Chemical Physics Letters, 1992
Abstract By simple room temperature broad band time-resolved spectroscopy it was possible to discriminate different Eu3+ spectra in SnO2 monolithic gels obtained by a sol—gel synthetic route. Nanocrystalline domains of the cassiterite-like SnO2:Eu could be easily identified in the transparent medium.

Infrared studies on SnO2 and Pd/SnO2

Catalysis Today, 2001
Abstract The peculiarities of the IR studies of adsorption on semiconducting oxides are reviewed with special attention to SnO2. Absorption by free electrons is very strong in reducing atmospheres and well-defined conditions are required to get vibrational information on the nature of surface species.

E-beam deposited SnO2, Pt–SnO2 and Pd–SnO2 thin films for LPG detection

Thin Solid Films, 1999
Abstract The electron-beam evaporation method was used to deposit undoped and Pt (or Pd) doped SnO 2 thin films. After careful study of their physical properties, SnO 2 thin films with suitable growth conditions were selected for probing their response to LPG and other common household gases.

Oxide–oxide nanojunctions in coaxial SnO2/TiO2, SnO2/V2O3 and SnO2/(Ti0.5V0.5)2O3 nanowire heterostructures

CrystEngComm, 2013
A single-crystalline shell based on titanium and vanadium binary oxides with karelianite structure (Ti1−xVx)2O3 was successfully deposited onto SnO2 nanowires by sequential chemical vapor deposition (CVD). In comparison to single titanium or vanadium oxide shells, the binary Ti–V metal oxide overlayer overcomes the problems related to lattice mismatch ...
