The Baracoa region, eastern Cuba, hosts around 80 % of the country cacao (Theobroma cacao L.) plantations. Cacao plants in farms are diverse in origin and propagation, with grafted and hybrid plants being the more common ones.

Single‐cell RNA editing analysis identifies ADAR1 as a regulator of dysfunctional T cell states in colorectal cancer. Elevated ADAR1 activity promotes T cell exhaustion and impairs antitumor immunity partly through TGF‐β‐SMAD signaling, contributing to anti‐PD‐1 resistance and highlighting T cell ADAR1 as a potential therapeutic target and biomarker ...

CauFinder: Steering Cell‐State and Phenotype Transitions by Causal Disentanglement Learning
CauFinder combines causal disentanglement modeling and network control to prioritize causal drivers of cell‐state transitions from observational transcriptomic data. The framework separates transition‐relevant signals from spurious associations, nominates intervention targets across biological and disease contexts, and identifies DAAM1 as an actionable

CHCHD10 loss in Alzheimer's disease is associated with mitochondrial dysfunction, epigenomic disruption, and tau pathology. Restoration of CHCHD10 shifts DNA methylation toward a non‐disease state and reduces tau and amyloid pathology, with KATNAL2 acting as a downstream effector.

Imputing missing genotypes with weighted k nearest neighbors [PDF]
Motivation: Missing values are a common problem in genetic association studies concerned with single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). Since most statistical methods cannot handle missing values, they have to be removed prior to the actual analysis ...

Multi‐trait genome‐wide association mapping identifies a central hub regulator, COLD AND CATECHINS REGULATOR 1 (CCR1), and its excellent natural allele variation, coordinately enhancing cold tolerance and promoting catechins biosyntheis. CsCCR1 interacts with CsCBF1/3 and is transcriptionally activated by CsLUX and CsKUA1 to promote catechins ...

Lipoic acid synthase (lias) can regulate α‐KG levels through lipoylation, thereby negatively regulating HIF‐1α protein levels via PHD under hypoixa. The Hap2 allele of lias exhibits lower expression levels than Hap1, leading to the accumulation of more HIF‐1α protein and thereby enhancing hypoxia tolerance. ABSTRACT Hypoxia stress seriously affects the

SNP analysis reveals an evolutionary acceleration of the human-specific microRNAs [PDF]
MicroRNAs are one class of important gene regulators at the post-transcriptional level by binding to the 3’UTRs of target mRNAs. It has been reported that human microRNAs are evolutionary conserved and show lower single nucleotide polymorphisms ...

As a pilot phase of the Central Asian Genomic Diversity Project, whole‐genome sequencing of 166 individuals from 20 Central Asian and Afghan Hazara populations reveals fine‐scale substructure shaped by repeated trans‐Eurasian migration and admixture. Integrated analyses uncover post‐admixture adaptation, archaic introgression, and medically relevant ...

ICSNPathway: identify candidate causal SNPs and pathways from genome-wide association study by one analytical framework [PDF]
Genome-wide association study (GWAS) is widely utilized to identify genes involved in human complex disease or some other trait. One key challenge for GWAS data interpretation is to identify causal SNPs and provide profound evidence on how they affect ...
