On a New SNR Estimation Approach With Polar Codes
IEEE Advanced Information Management, Communicates, Electronic and Automation Control Conference, 2021A maximum likelihood polar code-aided (ML-PCA) SNR estimation algorithm is proposed in this paper. In the ML-PCA algorithm, the posterior soft information of polar BP decoding is adopted to help the SNR estimation process.

Low-Complexity Non-Data-Aided SNR Estimation for Multilevel Constellations
IEEE Communications Letters, 2020Empirical-distribution-function (EDF)-based non-data-aided signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) estimation methods are effective for multilevel constellations but require many matching operations between reference cumulative distribution functions and EDF.

High-precision SNR Estimation by CNN using PSD Image for Adaptive Modulation and Coding
IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference, 2020This paper proposes a highly accurate signal to noise ratio (SNR) estimation method for adaptive modulation and coding (AMC) by learning power spectral density (PSD) images with a convolutional neural network (CNN).

SNR estimation for nonconstant modulus constellations
IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2004We propose a new technique to estimate the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) over the flat-fading channel. This is a non-data-aided, envelope-based estimator that can be applied to non-constant modulus constellations which is a feature not found in the existing approaches.

A reduced complexity SNR estimator
IET Conference Publications, 2009This paper presents a novel reduced complexity SNR estimator, whose performances are comparable with the maximum-likelihood estimator while saving one half of the floating point multiplications and one third of the floating point sums. A detailed statistical description of the estimate, as well as simulation results, are provided. (4 pages)

Turbo-decoding without SNR estimation
IEEE Communications Letters, 2000Theoretically, it is necessary to estimate the SNR when using a MAP of the log-MAP constituent decoder. The effect of an SNR mismatch on the bit error rate performance of turbo-codes and the design of good variance estimators have been addressed by several authors.

Squared envelope-based SNR estimation
Journal of the Chinese Institute of Engineers, 2013Two novel squared envelope (SQE)-based and nondata-aided (NDA) signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) estimators over slow fading channel are proposed, which are robust to carrier offsets and can be applied to both nonconstant modulus (NCM) and constant modulus (CM) constellations.

SNR-Based Link Quality Estimation
2012 IEEE 75th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Spring), 2012The ability to accurately estimate wireless link quality is critical to the performance of routing protocols and rate adaptation algorithms in wireless mesh networks. Current link quality estimation methods utilize the packet delivery ratio (PDR) measurement of periodic broadcast probes sent at the lowest transmission rate.
