An evolution of regenerative snubber circuits

2000 IEEE 31st Annual Power Electronics Specialists Conference. Conference Proceedings (Cat. No.00CH37018), 2002
The use of switching regulator circuits at high power levels and high frequencies requires careful examination and control of the power dissipation during switching. In this paper, the authors show the process in which the PWM soft-single-switched converters were created. They operate with soft switching in a pulse width modulation way.

A novel lossless snubber circuit

Proceedings, Fourth Annual IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition, 2003
A simple lossless snubber circuit for use with a switch mode power converter is presented. The circuit uses a capacitor connected between the primary and tertiary windings of a transformer in such a way as to relieve the stress from the power semiconductor switch at both turn-on and turn-off.

Non-linear capacitors in snubber circuits for GTO-thyristors

20th Annual IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 1992
Applications with GTO (gate turn-off) thyristors have until now required snubber circuits, at least for turn-off. At high switching frequencies there are conflicting design criteria for the snubber capacitor, concerning losses versus timing conditions. To improve this situation the authors use nonlinear capacitors.

Inverter circuit with the regenerative passive snubber

2007 Power Conversion Conference - Nagoya, 2007
This paper presents an inverter circuit using a snubber circuit to achieve soft switching. This snubber circuit has a transformer-based energy regenerative circuit. This circuit has no additional switching device, and the cost is low. In this paper, this circuit was examined and evaluated by single shot test and PWM drive test.

Analysis of Snubber Circuit Parameters Based on an Excitation Controlling Circuit

Advanced Materials Research, 2011
In an excitation control system of some DC generator, there are accidents sometimes thanks to the snobbery unit. To solve these bothersome, based on an snubber unit of the excitation control circuit, namely a Buck converter topology with rectifier bridge, with the filter capacitance and the exciting winding impedance parameter assured, the preferences ...

A Brief Review of Snubber Circuits for Flyback Converter

2018 3rd International Conference for Convergence in Technology (I2CT), 2018
This paper reviews the different snubber circuit topologies for flyback converters. At low power levels, flyback converters are required to operate at fast switching frequencies to achieve higher power densities, low flux linkage and reduced converter size. However, at high frequencies, switching losses in flyback converters increase along with voltage

Snubber circuit design for GTO converters

Proceedings IECON '91: 1991 International Conference on Industrial Electronics, Control and Instrumentation, 2002
The design of snubber circuits for GTO (gate turn-off thyristor) power converters used in electrical railways is considered. The amount of energy stored in the series and in the parallel snubbers is significant. For this reason designers are interested in limiting the losses connected with the trapped energy in the snubbers.

Experimental evaluation of MOS-FET snubber circuit

The IEEE Region 8 EUROCON 2003. Computer as a Tool., 2004
This paper presents the analyses and the design of snubber circuits for low power dc-dc converters realized with MOS-FETs. The analyses and the design procedure are based on experimental evaluation. The appropriate user of the snubber circuit can increase the power range of the low-power dc-dc converters available as interacted circuit.

Snubber Circuit for Marine Controlled-Source Electromagnetic Transmitter

Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University (Science), 2021
A high-power marine controlled-source electromagnetic transmitter (HP-MCSET) transmits a high-frequency conversion current on the sea floor. Some problems exist when the direct-current to alternating-current (DC-AC) launch bridge (LB) is used in the marine controlled-source electromagnetic transmitter (MCSET).
