A High-Performance Isolated SEPIC Converter for Non-Electrolytic LED Lighting

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
This paper proposes a high-performance isolated single-ended primary inductor converter (SEPIC) that is integrated with a non-dissipative snubber for a light-emitting diode (LED) driver. The proposed LED driver employs the snubber circuit to minimize any

Phase cascade lattice rectifier array: an exactly solvable nonlinear network circuit [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
An exact analysis of a 2-D lattice network consisting of N × N sites with rectifier and AC source elements with controllable phases reveals a method for generating ripple-free DC power without the use of any filtering circuit elements.

Comparison of Surge Voltage Reduction and Economic Efficiency of DC SSCBs According to MOV and RCD Snubber Combination

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of the Industrial Electronics Society
Metal oxide varistor (MOV) is a nonlinear resistive element whose resistance decreases rapidly when the applied voltage exceeds a threshold value. A dc solid-state circuit breaker (SSCB) uses MOVs or MOV with resistor-capacitor-diode (RCD) snubber ...

Efficiency Improvement for a DC-DC Quadratic Power Boost Converter by Applying a Switch Turn-off Lossless Snubber Structure Based on Zero Voltage Switching

open access: yesElektronika ir Elektrotechnika, 2018
So as to keep the converter in small size, high switching frequencies are normally used. As a result, in higher frequencies, switching losses seriously affect the efficiency.

Soft-switching vector control for resonant snubber based inverters [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
This paper gives a new classification of soft-switching inverters according to the principle of operation. After discussing the soft-switching phenomena in hard-switching inverters, the concept of soft-switching vector (SSV) is introduced.

Optimisation and Simulation of RC Time Constants in Snubber Circuits [PDF]

open access: yes2018 53rd International Universities Power Engineering Conference (UPEC), 2018
Semiconductor devices are subjected to elevated levels of stresses when used at high voltage high current and temperature applications. This stress is mainly due to hard switching which is proportional to the switching frequency. This paper presents methods used to remove this energy to prevent expensive switch damage due to overheating and high dv/dt ...

DC-SSCB Snubber for Electric Propulsion Ships With Effective Surge Voltage Reduction and Fast Dissipation of Fault Current Energy

open access: yesIEEE Access
This paper proposes a snubber circuit for SSCB that performs voltage clamping operation in two stages to reduce surge voltage. The surge voltage is suppressed in the first stage using a MOV with low operating initiation and clamping voltages.
