Experiences of women farmworkers in Michigan: Perspectives from the Michigan Farmworker Project
Abstract Agricultural work presents significant physical and social challenges globally and in the United States, with women farmworkers facing unique risks that remain underexplored. This study examines the social and occupational hazards confronted by women farmworkers in Michigan using data from the Michigan Farmworker Project.

A modified mean curvature flow in Euclidean space and soap bubbles in symmetric spaces [PDF]
In this paper, we show that small spherical soap bubbles in irreducible simply connected symmetric spaces of rank greater than one are constructed from the limits of a certain kind of modified mean curvature flows starting from small spheres in the Euclidean space of dimension equal to the rank of the symmetric space, where we note that the small ...

THE EFFECT OF THE pH ON THE GERMICIDAL ACTION OF SOAPS
1. The effect of the pH on the germicidal action of soaps has been studied. The lower members of the series were found to be most active in acid solution; the higher members, in alkaline. The point of transition varied with the test organism used.

GIXRD Study of PM6: Y12 Films for Stretchable OPV Applications
ABSTRACT Recent advancements in organic photovoltaics (OPVs) have focused on improving both efficiency and mechanical robustness, yet critical insights into the structural and mechanical properties of the materials remain underexplored, particularly in the context of intrinsically stretchable OPVs.

Hydrodynamic Doppler effect in flowing soap films [PDF]
It is known for many years that the vorticity and the thickness fields in soap films are coupled and that the thickness wave propagates at the Marangoni wave speed. Based on the two observations, we propose a hypothesis that the vorticity field propagates at the Marangoni wave speed in flowing soap film channels.

Soap is sodium or potassium salt of fatty acid produced by saponification reaction. Soap is used on a day to day basis by households. The physicochemical properties of soaps determine their quality and hence determine their efficiency and their cleansing

SOAPS AS FERMENT-INHIBITING AGENTS
1. Sodium soaps prepared from olive oil, croton oil, cod-liver oil, linseed oil, etc., have the property of inhibiting the action of trypsin and leucoprotease. 2. The activity of these soaps is dependent upon the degree of unsaturation of the fatty acids

A reinforcement sensitivity perspective on adolescents' susceptibility to the influence of soap opera viewing on alcohol attitudes [PDF]
Previous research found support for an association between exposure to alcohol-related media content and alcohol attitudes, intentions and behavior. Nevertheless, research on what makes young people susceptible to the occurrence of this relationship is ...
