Dual-sliding-mode observer for SOC estimations
2017 IEEE Southern Power Electronics Conference (SPEC), 2017A sliding mode-based observer is proposed in order to estimate the state-of-charge (SOC) of a Li-ion battery. The proposed observer is designed based on high-order sliding modes attaining a low level of chattering, which becomes quite attractive. The battery's state estimation is made through a charge/discharge cycle, calculating the model's parameters.

Battery SoC Estimation from EIS using Neural Nets
2020 IEEE Transportation Electrification Conference & Expo (ITEC), 2020In this paper, a battery state of charge (SoC) estimation strategy with deep neural networks (DNN) and Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) is proposed. EIS data was obtained for a range of conditions and was used as inputs to a DNN. Additionally, a battery model was fit to the data, and the model parameters were used as inputs to a second DNN.
