A study linking patient EHR data to external death data at Stanford Medicine [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
This manuscript explores linking real-world patient data with external death data in the context of research Clinical Data Warehouses (r-CDWs). We specifically present the linking of Electronic Health Records (EHR) data for Stanford Health Care (SHC) patients and data from the Social Security Administration (SSA) Limited Access Death Master File (LADMF)

Cell‐free and extracellular vesicle microRNAs with clinical utility for solid tumors

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cell‐free microRNAs (cfmiRs) are small‐RNA circulating molecules detectable in almost all body biofluids. Innovative technologies have improved the application of cfmiRs to oncology, with a focus on clinical needs for different solid tumors, but with emphasis on diagnosis, prognosis, cancer recurrence, as well as treatment monitoring.

Estimation of the Risk of Developing Dysplastic Dependent Pathology of Bronchopulmonary System in Children Considering the Complex of Regional and Environmental as well as Social and Medical Factors

open access: yesGalician Medical Journal, 2016
Based on the study of the prevalence of potential risk factors the most informative ones were determined. Their prognostic value was used as a criterion for assessing the risk of developing dysplastic dependent pathology of the bronchopulmonary system in

The power of dynamic social networks to predict individuals' mental health [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
Precision medicine has received attention both in and outside the clinic. We focus on the latter, by exploiting the relationship between individuals' social interactions and their mental health to develop a predictive model of one's likelihood to be depressed or anxious from rich dynamic social network data.

KRAS and GNAS mutations in cell‐free DNA and in circulating epithelial cells in patients with intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms—an observational pilot study

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that KRAS and GNAS mutations are more prevalent in patients with resected intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMN) compared to those under clinical surveillance. GNAS mutations significantly differ between the two patient cohorts, indicating that their absence may serve as a potential biomarker to support conservative ...

On‐treatment dynamics of circulating extracellular vesicles in the first‐line setting of patients with advanced non‐small cell lung cancer: the LEXOVE prospective study

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LEXOVE prospective study evaluated plasma cell‐free extracellular vesicle (cfEV) dynamics using Bradford assay and dynamic light scattering in metastatic non‐small cell lung cancer patients undergoing first‐line treatments, correlating a ∆cfEV < 20% with improved median progression‐free survival in responders versus non‐responders.

Cellular liquid biopsy provides unique chances for disease monitoring, preclinical model generation and therapy adjustment in rare salivary gland cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We quantified and cultured circulating tumor cells (CTCs) of 62 patients with various cancer types and generated CTC‐derived tumoroid models from two salivary gland cancer patients. Cellular liquid biopsy‐derived information enabled molecular genetic assessment of systemic disease heterogeneity and functional testing for therapy selection in both ...

Some Applications of Isotope - Based technologies: Human Health and Quantum Information [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Transactions of the Institute of Humanity and Social Sciences, Tallinn, 2010, p. 18 - 22, 2010
Technology is the sum of the information, knowledge and agency. This takes energy and information as fundamental concepts. In this paper I'll try to describe very briefly in popular form of some applications of radioactive and stable isotopes in medicine and quantum information, respectively.
