Determination of orthodontic tooth movement and tissue reaction following demineralized freeze-dried bone allograft grafting intervention

open access: yesDental Research Journal, 2012
Background: Socket preservation after tooth extraction is one of the indications of bone grafting to enhance preorthodontic condition. The aim of this study is to determine the effects of socket preservation on the immediate tooth movement, alveolar ...

Cone-beam computed tomographic evaluation of dimensional hard tissue changes following alveolar ridge preservation with leucocyte and platelet-rich fibrin techniques: a pilot study

open access: yesBrazilian Dental Science, 2022
Objective: This study evaluated the effect of leucocyte and platelet-rich fibrin (L-PRF) techniques used in alveolar ridge preservation on dimensional hard tissue changes of the alveolar ridge assessed using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans ...

Harnessing Phase Separation for the Development of High‐Performance Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hydrogels are indispensable for the development of next‐generation bioelectronics, soft robotics, and biomedical devices, where their mechanical properties determine performance and reliability. Among strategies to enhance hydrogel mechanics, phase separation enables controlled heterogeneity resulting in gel networks that are reinforced by ...

Techniques for Extraction Socket Regeneration for Alveolar Ridge Preservation

open access: yesThe Journal of Contemporary Dental Practice, 2022
Alveolar bone undergoes volumetric changes after extraction due to physiologic bone remodeling. The amount of alveolar bone available during prosthodontic treatment can affect the esthetic outcome of the treatment and make implant placement challenging.

Faster and Durable: A Cell‐to‐System Validation of a Low‐Degradation Fast‐Charge Protocol for Li‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A physics‐based framework resolving graphite phase‐separation dynamics establishes a predictive, degradation‐aware fast‐charging methodology for commercial Li‐ion batteries. The resulting model‐informed protocol achieves 20%–80% state‐of‐charge in 14 min while matching the long‐term degradation of a commercial 25‐minute EV strategy.

The effect of smoking on survival and bone loss of implants with a fluoride-modified surface: a 2-year retrospective analysis of 1106 implants placed in daily practice [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Aim: To compare survival and peri-implant bone loss of implants with a fluoride-modified surface in smokers and nonsmokers. Materials and Methods: Patient files of all patients referred for implant treatment from November 2004 to 2007 were scrutinized.

Three dimensional socket preservation: a technique for soft tissue augmentation along with socket grafting [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of Surgical Innovation and Research, 2012
Abstract Background A cursory review of the current socket preservation literatures well depicts the necessity of further esthetic considerations through the corrective procedures of the alveolar ridge upon and post extraction. A new technique has been described here is a rotational pedicle combined epithelialized and

Capacitive Pixelated CMOS Electronic Nose

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
A 1024‐pixel CMOS capacitive E‐nose with inkjet‐printed MOFs and polymer layers yields gas‐specific capacitance fingerprints under humid conditions, discriminating toluene from 2‐butanone at low power. ABSTRACT Although some of the human senses can nowadays be replaced by low‐cost electronic sensors such as microphones and image sensors, a compact low ...
