Scalable Engineering of Bio‐Manufactured Extracellular Vesicles for Selective Delivery in Ovarian Cancer Patient‐Derived Models

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Engineered extracellular vesicles displaying Ephrin‐B2 selectively target Ephrin‐B4–expressing ovarian cancer cells, enabling precise delivery in patient‐derived models. This scalable bio‐manufacturing platform reveals a versatile strategy to exploit Ephrin signaling for highly specific therapeutic payload delivery and motivates exploration of tailored

Optimising acid-base balance in patients with advanced chronic kidney disease: a quality improvement initiative

open access: yesBMJ Open Quality
Advanced chronic kidney disease (CKD) is commonly associated with disturbances in acid-base balance. Studies have shown that correcting metabolic acidosis in CKD offers several clinical benefits, including slower disease progression and reduced mortality.

Bicarbonate-dependent pH recovery assays in cultured hRPTCs carrying Wild-Type (WT) or homozygous variant (HV) SLC4A5.

open access: yes, 2018
A) Bicarbonate-dependent pH recovery: pH recovery was measured in WT and HV SLC4A5 hRPTCs expressing empty vector (vector control, VC), overexpressing (OE) SLC4A5 (4A5OE), knock-down (KD) SLC4A5 (4A5KD), and knock-down (KD) SLC4A4 (4A5KD).

A Bone Marrow–Mimetic Hydrogel Enables Dual‐Phase Hemostasis and Vascularized Osteogenesis for Cranial Defects

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A biomimetic, fiber‐reinforced hydrogel (FE‐PDA@Fib/Gel‐TG) that enables dual‐phase cranial defect repair. The system provides: instant hemostasis in the early stage, and sustained co‐delivery of pro‐angiogenic and osteogenic signals for synergistic vascularized bone regeneration.

Lactoferrin Deficiency During Lactation Causes Adult Obesity‐Related Metabolic Disease Through Persistent Adipose Dysfunction Driven by Impaired Adipocyte Development

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lactational lactoferrin deficiency exerts lasting effects on epididymal adipose tissue development from lactation into adulthood: it impairs adipocyte hyperplasia and induces pathological hypertrophy, resulting in lower body weight yet exacerbated metabolic dysfunction under a high‐fat diet in adulthood.

Aptamer‐Targeted PrPC Drives Colorectal Cancer Metastasis via a LYN‐STAT3 Complex and Enables Liquid Biopsy Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The aptamer WHY‐3E identifies PrPC as a CRC driver. Stabilized by USP18, endocytosed PrPC forms a LYN/STAT3 complex, upregulating MSN transcription to promote metastasis. Crucially, WHY‐3E sensitively detects PrPC‐positive circulating exosomes, establishing a robust theoretical foundation for non‐invasive clinical diagnostics.
