Preparation of bulk sodium carboxymethyl cellulose aerogels with tunable morphology

Carbohydrate Polymers, 2015
Homogeneous and bulk carboxymethyl cellulose hydrogel and aerogel were prepared by a novel process, using Fe(3+) and d-(+)-gluconic acid-lactone as cross-linker and releasing agent, respectively. The results showed that the mass fraction of Fe(3+) has a great effect on CMC aerogels' structure, crystallization and morphology.

Preparation and Properties of Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose-Hyaluronic Acid-Carboxymethyl Chitosan Blend

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2010
The Sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC)-Hyaluronic acid (HA)-Carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCS) blend films were prepared by solution method, and then characterized by FT-IR,XRD,SEM and water absorption capability. The results suggested that there were strong molecular interaction and good compatibility in the blend films.

Aerogel colorimetric label sensors based on carboxymethyl cellulose/sodium alginate with black goji anthocyanin for monitoring fish freshness.

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules
A novel colorimetric aerogel was developed by the complexation of carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC), sodium alginate (SA), and black goji anthocyanin (BGA) followed by freeze-drying for monitoring fish (Coho salmon) freshness during storage at 4 °C and 25 °C.
