THE STRUCTURAL AND METABOLIC DISORDERS OF CELLS' MEMBRANES IN EXPERIMENT

open access: yesПроблеми екології та медицини, 2018
The effect of small subtoxical doses of sodium fluoride on the activity of hepatocytes' microsoms on 30 Wistar rats' populations was studied in subacute experiments.

Sodium Fluoride Induces Hepato-Renal Oxidative Stress and Pathophysiological Changes in Experimental Animals

open access: yes, 2018
The liver is a primary site for xenobiotics detoxification, and its metabolism is readily altered by toxicity. The kidney is a common target for toxic xenobiotics due to its capacity to extract and concentrate toxic substances by highly specialized cells.

Sodium fluoride induces apoptosis in mouse splenocytes by activating ROS-dependent NF-κB signaling

open access: yesOncoTarget, 2017
In this study, we investigated the roles of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) signaling in sodium fluoride-induced DNA damage and apoptosis in mouse splenocytes.

ATG4B is required for mTORC1‐mediated anabolic activity and is associated with clinical outcomes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The relationship between anabolic and catabolic processes governing lung cancer cell growth is nuanced. We show that ATG4B, an autophagy regulator, is elevated in lung cancer and that high ATG4B is associated with worse patient outcomes. Targeting ATG4B in cells reduces growth, protein synthesis, and mTORC1 activity, demonstrating a new relationship ...

Sodium fluoride: suggestive role in wound healing and cell proliferation with respect to regeneration

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Biological Research, 2018
Sodium fluoride is a naturally occurring toxicant. The most common sources of sodium fluoride are municipal water, toothpastes etc. The ever increasing exposure to sodium fluoride may affect various physiological processes including regenerative ...

Antibacterial property of eugenol and eugenol-free zinc oxide cements incorporated with various concentrations of sodium fluoride

open access: yesAdvances in Human Biology, 2018
Background: Restoring tooth by fixed partial dentures involves tooth reduction to reproduce the dental anatomy in the prosthesis. This process brings about the exposure of millions of dentinal tubules which serves as potential passageways for the ...

Understanding and Optimizing Li Substitution in P2‐Type Sodium Layered Oxides for Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work explores Li‐substituted P2 layered oxides for Na‐ion batteries by crystallographic and electrochemical studies. The effect of lithium on superstructure orderings, on phase transitions during synthesis and electrochemical cycling and on the interplay of O‐ versus TM‐redox is revealed via various advanced techniques, including semi‐simultaneous

Enhancing Low‐Temperature Performance of Sodium‐Ion Batteries via Anion‐Solvent Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
DOL is introduced into electrolytes as a co‐solvent, increasing slat solubility, ion conductivity, and the de‐solvent process, and forming an anion‐rich solvent shell due to its high interaction with anion. With the above virtues, the batteries using this electrolyte exhibit excellent cycling stability at low temperatures. Abstract Sodium‐ion batteries
