Flexible, Photonic Films of Surfactant‐Functionalized Cellulose Nanocrystals for Pressure and Humidity Sensing

open access: yesSmall Structures
Most paints contain pigments that absorb light and fade over time. A robust alternative can be found in nature, where structural coloration arises from the interference of light with submicron features.

Toward High‐Resolution Polymeric Neural Interfaces: A Practical Guide for Electron Beam Lithography

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Electron beam lithography (EBL) enables sub‐micron patterning of polymer‐based neural implants, overcoming the resolution limits of optical lithography. By addressing challenges such as charging, non‐planarity, and substrate heating, it supports higher channel density, improved miniaturization, and better long‐term tissue integration.

Voltage‐Driven Non‐Volatile Interconversion Between Giant Single‐Domain and Multidomain Magnetic States in a Multiferroic Heterostructure

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Non‐volatile voltage control of magnetic configurations is achieved in a strain‐coupled multiferroic heterostructure. Voltage pulses reversibly interconvert giant single‐domain and multidomain magnetic states, which remain stable at zero applied voltage. ABSTRACT Voltage control of magnetic states in multiferroic heterostructures represents a promising

Sticker Valence Governs Chain Collapse and Liquid‐Liquid Phase Separation in Peptide‐Inspired Associative Polymers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Peptide‐inspired associative polymers with arginine‐like guanidinium stickers and lysine‐like ammonium spacers undergo chain collapse and liquid‐liquid phase separation induced by reversible sticker associations. Sticker valence and tunable association strength jointly control the phase behavior, chain conformation, and interfacial cohesion of these ...

Rapid Photogelation of Low‐Concentration Polymer Solutions via Photodimerization of o‐Ethylnitrobenzene

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Upon UV irradiation, flexible and tough hydrogels are formed rapidly (>0.5 s) from dilute (>0.5 wt%) solutions of o‐ethylnitrobenzene–modified PVA. At ∼1.5 wt%, the hydrogels withstand up to 10 MPa compression, remain handleable even after 200‐fold swelling.

Neutron reflectivity and soft condensed matter

open access: yesCurrent Opinion in Colloid & Interface Science, 2002
Abstract During the last 10–15 years neutron reflectivity has emerged as a powerful and important technique for the study of surfaces and interfaces. The selectivity and sensitivity afforded by deuterium/hydrogen exchange makes the technique particularly attractive for application to the broad field of colloid and interface science.
