Electroactive Liquid Crystal Elastomers as Soft Actuators
Electroactive liquid crystal elastomers (eLCEs) can be actuated via electromechanical, electrochemical, or electrothermal effects. a) Electromechanical effects include Maxwell stress, electrostriction, and the electroclinic effect. b) Electrochemical effects arise from electrode redox reactions.

Soft behaviour modelling of user communities [PDF]
A soft modelling approach for describing behaviour in on-line user communities is introduced in this work. Behaviour models of individual users in dynamic virtual environments have been described in the literature in terms of timed transition automata ...

Isostaticity of Constraints in Jammed Systems of Soft Frictionless Platonic Solids [PDF]
The average number of constraints per particle $$ in mechanically stable systems of Platonic solids (except cubes) approaches the isostatic limit at the jamming point ($ \rightarrow 12$), though average number of contacts are hypostatic.

This review highlights how machine learning (ML) algorithms are employed to enhance sensor performance, focusing on gas and physical sensors such as haptic and strain devices. By addressing current bottlenecks and enabling simultaneous improvement of multiple metrics, these approaches pave the way toward next‐generation, real‐world sensor applications.

A vertically stacked, DEA‐driven photonic array inspired by cephalopod skin, featuring highly crystalline colloidal crystal gels with vivid color, low FWHM and scalability is presented. The multilayer design removes lateral pixel interference, achieving near‐100% fill factor with fully independent RGB actuation.

Integrity policies and cryptographic protocols have much in common. They allow for a number of participating principals, and consist of sets of rules controlling the actions that principals should or should not perform. They are intended to uphold various security properties, the crucial ones being integrity, confidentiality and authentication.

Adaptive 4D‐Printed Vascular Stents With Low‐Temperature‐Activated and Intelligent Deployment
Microarchitected coronary artery stents were fabricated using a polycaprolactone (PCL)‐based shape memory polymer (SMP) composite via projection micro‐stereolithography (PµSL) 4D printing. By incorporating diethyl phthalate (DEP) as a plasticizer, the thermal transition temperature (Ttran) was modulated to about 37°C, enabling rapid and autonomous ...
