Structural instability associated with the tilting of CuO6 octahedra in La2-xSrxCuO4

open access: yes, 1999
Comprehensive inelastic neutron-scattering measurements were performed to study the soft optical phonons in La2-xSrxCuO4 at x=0.10, 0.12 and 0.18. We found at x=0.18 that the softening of Z-point phonon, suggesting incipient structural transition from ...

A Numerical–Experimental Approach for Multi‐Matrix Fiber‐Reinforced Plastics Characterization Using Finite Element Model Updating

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

Classical observables from causal response functions

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We revisit the calculation of classical observables from causal response functions, following up on recent work by Caron-Huot et al. [1]. We derive a formula to compute asymptotic in-in observables from a particular soft limit of five-point amputated ...

Additive Gaussian Process Regression for Predictive Design of High‐Performance, Printable Silicones

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A chemistry‐aware design framework for tuning printable polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) for vat photopolymerization (VPP) is developed using additive Gaussian process (GP) modeling. Polymer network mechanics informs variable groupings, feasible formulation constraints, and interaction variables.

Optimal Connection Voltage of Soft Open Point and Shore-to-Ship Power Converters for Enhanced Capacitive Reactive Power Operation

open access: yesIEEE Access
Soft Open Point and Shore-to-Ship Power applications permit to deploy smart grid infrastructure into distribution and port networks. Both are based on power electronics converters that require an optimal integration to maximize capacitive reactive power ...

Electromagnetic nucleon form factors from QCD sum rules

open access: yes, 2005
The electromagnetic form factors of the nucleon, in the space-like region, are determined from three-point function Finite Energy QCD Sum Rules. The QCD calculation is performed to leading order in perturbation theory in the chiral limit, and to leading ...

Air‐Pressure–Actuated Vibroacoustic Metamaterial With Tunable Bandgap: Design, Modeling, and Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents the design, modeling, and characterization of air‐pressure–actuated programmable vibroacoustic metamaterials (PVAMM). The study focuses on leveraging air pressure to dynamically tune resonance frequencies for effective noise attenuation.

Composition‐Tuned Enhancement of the Anomalous Nernst Effect in FeCo–Pt Thin Films on Rigid and Flexible Substrates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.

Gravitational D-form factor: the σ-meson as a dilaton confronted with lattice QCD data I

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We investigate the nucleon and pion gravitational D-form factors, by fitting a σ/f 0(500)-meson pole, together with a background term, to lattice data at m π ≈ 170 MeV.
