Magnetically Soft Eutectic Composites
Journal of Applied Physics, 1972Unidirectional solidification of pseudoeutectic alloys from the (Fe, Co, Ni)–NbC system resulted in the formation of a (Fe, Co, Ni) solid solution matrix reinforced by aligned NbC fibers. Room-temperature magnetic hysteresis loop and high-temperature saturation magnetization measurements were performed on controlled eutectic samples whose matrix ...

Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 2007
Abstract A thorough micromagnetic analysis of the exchange-spring problem is reported with special emphasis on multilayers constituted by hard–soft exchange-coupled phases. The developed one—dimensional micromagnetic model leads to a complete magnetic phase diagram in terms of layer thicknesses.

High Strength Soft Magnetic Composites
MRS Proceedings, 2001ABSTRACTThere has been an increasing demand for high temperature soft magnetic materials with mechanical properties better than those of existing commercial materials such as FeCo alloys. We have designed new magnetic composites by reinforcing FeCo alloys with high strength tungsten fibers.

Modeling of soft magnetic composites
Conference Record of the 2004 IEEE Industry Applications Conference, 2004. 39th IAS Annual Meeting., 2004The electromagnetic properties of soft magnetic composites (SMCs) are studied based on a finite element model. In this approach, SMCs are modeled as an infinite array of hexagonal cylinders in two dimensions. Each cylinder is assumed to be saturable pure iron coated with a thin layer of binder or insulation.
