In this work we develop and validate neural-network (NN) constitutive models for structural steels under monotonic and cyclic loading, using internal-variable inputs to encode path dependence. For monotonic tension at $$200-800^{\circ }C$$ (Kirby-Preston

This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Deriving Test Suites with the Guaranteed Fault Coverage for Extended Finite State Machines
Extended Finite State Machines (EFSMs) are widely used when deriving tests for checking functional requirements for software implementations. However, the fault coverage of tests covering appropriate paths, variables, etc.

Miki: a wiki for synchronous modeling of software requirements [PDF]
Eliciting a high quality requirements model that can be traced down to implementations is a challenge. Keeping models updated for evolving software systems is a further challenge.

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Exploring Cortex-M Microarchitectural Side Channel Information Leakage
The growing Internet of Things (IoT) market demands side-channel attack resistant, efficient, cryptographic implementations. Such implementations, however, are microarchitecture-specific, and cannot be implemented without an in-depth structural knowledge

Dynamic Information Flow Tracking on Multicores [PDF]
Dynamic Information Flow Tracking (DIFT) is a promising technique for detecting software attacks. Due to the computationally intensive nature of the technique, prior efficient implementations [21, 6] rely on specialized hardware support whose only ...

We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction
This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.
