Semantic Code Graph—An Information Model to Facilitate Software Comprehension

open access: yesIEEE Access
Software comprehension is becoming increasingly time-consuming due to the continual growth in the size of codebases. Consequently, it is becoming more critical to speed up the code comprehension process to aid in software maintenance and lower the ...

Web information systems: A study of maintenance, change and flexibility

open access: yes, 2010
This thesis was submitted for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy and awarded by Brunel University.Information Systems (IS’s) have provided organisations with huge efficiency gains and benefits over the years; however an outstanding problem that is yet to

Finding novel vulnerabilities of hypomorphic BRCA1 alleles

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Synthetic lethality screens performed to identify novel vulnerabilities often model complete gene loss, thereby overlooking patient‐derived hypomorphic mutations. In this study, we have performed genome‐wide CRISPR screens on BRCA1 hypomorphic mutations, showing BRCA1I26A behaves like wild‐type, while BRCA1R1699Q mimics deficiency. Furthermore, we have

Introducing workflow management in software maintenance processes

open access: yes, 2001
Software organizations are moving from traditional software factory models towards virtual organization models, where distributed teams converge in a temporary network with the aim of integrating different competences or solving problems in a cooperative

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

A combined representation for the maintenance of C programs [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
A programmer wishing to make a change to a piece of code must first gain a full understanding of the behaviours and functionality involved. This process of program comprehension is difficult and time consuming, and often hindered by the absence of useful

An Empirical Analysis of the Distribution of Unit Test Smells and Their Impact on Software Maintenance

open access: yes, 2012
Unit testing represents a key activity in software development and maintenance. Test suites with high internal quality facilitate maintenance activities, such as code comprehension and regression testing.

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Information Needs of Developers for Program Comprehension during Software Maintenance Tasks

open access: yes, 2008
Software engineers undertaking maintenance tasks often work on unfamiliar code, requiring developers to search for, relate, and collect information relevant to the maintenance task. The goal of this research is to create theories that describe the nature
