Improving software project management
Journal of Systems and Software, 1990Abstract While the complexity of software-based products has increased enormously over the past decade, the increased cost of software development goes far beyond that which can be explained by this increased complexity. The single most glaring cause of this cost increase is the lack of effective leadership within software development projects.

Software project management audits
Journal of Systems and Software, 1981This paper shows how project audits can be used to uncover project strengths and weaknesses. Three audits are described and findings of the audit teams are summarized. Audits helped identify organizational problems, lacking management discipline, and software testing approaches useful to other projects.

A Probabilistic Model for Software Projects
ACM SIGSOFT Software Engineering Notes, 1999A probabilistic model for software development projects is constructed. The model can be applied to compute an estimate for the development time of a project. The chances of succeeding with a given amount of time and the risk of deviating from the estimate can be computed as well. Examples show that the model behaves as expected when the input data are

Classification of Software Projects’ Complexity
2010Software project complexity is a subject that has not received detailed attention. The purpose of this chapter is to present a systematic way for studying and modeling software project complexity. The proposed model is based on the widely known and accepted Project Management Body of Knowledge and it uses a typology for modeling complexity based on ...

The ARGUS Software in the CASC-Project
2004The CASC-project has brought together a major part of the SDC-research community in Europe. This joint effort has resulted in many steps forward in the research on SDC. Very visible results of this project are the twin software packages μ-ARGUS and τ-ARGUS. They make many research results readily available.
